This year’s Met Gala dress code was “The Garden of Time,” offering many interpretations, including floral prints and embellishments, elaborate headpieces, and vintage gowns. Here are all the dresses from the Met Gala 2024 that will make you turn your head.

The Met Gala is the hub of art, forward-thinking fashion, and celebrities going all out. It’s not your average movie premiere, television show debut, or fashion red carpet event. It’s the epitome of cinema, art, and haute couture intertwining into one grand spectacle.
The Met Gala, an annual fundraising gala for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City, has been a prominent event since its inception in 1948. Initially, it served as a platform to celebrate the opening of the Costume Institute’s annual exhibit. Over time, it evolved into one of the most significant fashion events globally, attracting celebrities, designers, and artists. Each year, the gala follows a specific theme, influencing attendees’ attire and generating buzz around their elaborate and often avant-garde outfits.
Amidst Protests, Advocating For Palestine
As the 2024 Met Gala red carpet was bustling, protestors advocating for Palestine and against the war marched down Madison Avenue toward the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday night chanting for a “cease-fire now” throughout the streets.
A week after, numerous students from universities in New York City, including Columbia University, New York University, and SUNY’s Fashion Institute of Technology, have intensified their organizational endeavors. They aim to urge their institutions to sever financial connections with Israel and Israeli firms, particularly those profiting from the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
This year’s dress code, “The Garden of Time,” many interpretations, including floral prints and embellishments, elaborate headpieces, and vintage gowns. Here are all the dresses from the Met Gala 2024 that will make you turn your head.

“It was a call to the Garden of Time – an ode to art and eternity. Timelessness is endless, and we acknowledge that things crafted with time and care, can last forever. In our journey for an Indian interpretation of this universal theme, the outfit took on a life of its own. Nothing embodies tradition and innovation like the saree; in the skilled hands of @sabyasachiofficial, this vision found its fullest expression. We looked to the past as a guide for the future, drawing inspiration from the timeless sophistication of Indian nobility.
“We focused on intricate craftsmanship, incorporating hand embroidery, precious stones, along with elegant beadwork and fringes, distinctive of the 1920’s fringe style. Our colour palette pays homage to nature’s beauty, echoing the earth, sky, and sea. We embraced a delicate nostalgia for hair and makeup – an elevated coiffure embellished with intricately woven braids and soft freckles – a homage to time’s gentle caress.”
