Couture, Art, Tributes, Hollywood Stars & the Biggest Red Carpet! Yes, the Met Gala 2023 just took place last night.

The most exciting event of the year where celebs go all out with their fashion choices, inspirations and tributes. This year, the theme honored the legacy of Karl Lagerfeld who for decades was at the helm of some of the biggest fashion houses in the world including Chanel, Fendi and Chloe. The late designer is synonymous with the success of Chanel. Celebrities wowed viewers on the red carpet at the 2023 Met Gala. The event, known for its star-studded guest list and extravagant outfits included pearls, starched collars, the iconic Chanel chains and black and white to honor the designer.
For this year’s theme – “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” – attendees were asked to wear clothes “in honor of Karl”.
While we covered the fashion choices in detail, the notable moments were a hard miss. We bring you the top moments you need to know about. Check them out below.
Debuting Baby Bumps

It wouldn’t be a Met Gala without some sort of revelation and we’re super excited for both Karlie Kloss and Serena Williams, who revealed their pregnancies on the Met Gala red carpet.
The super model Karlie Kloss was dressed to the nines in Loewe, while Serena Williams, the tennis champion looked breath-taking in Gucci. Both the tennis superstar and the supermodel showed off baby bumps on the red carpet, setting a new standard for pregnancy reveals. Both stunned in black and pearls! Coincidence much?
Jared Leto Fuzzing It Up

Attendees were stunned when a huge life sized version of Choupette, Chanel designer late Karl Lagerfeld’s iconic pet cat showed up on the red carpet. Turning the event into a spectacle, the big fuzzy cat removed its headpiece to reveal the joker actor Jared Leto. Jared Leto is no stranger to Met Gala stunts. He paid tribute to the designer’s pet and muse Choupette.
Florence Pugh’s Buzz At The Red Carpet

While sweeping her divine white Valentino gown with a black ribbon, what captured the crowd’s attention was her dramatic new buzzed haircut. She donned the new cut with a tall feather crown. It’s a notable departure from her long blonde hair with bangs.
In an interview last week with the New York Times she teased that her Met Gala look was going to be “big”.
Keeping Up With The Kardashians At The Met

Though rumors were flooding about whether the Kardashian’s had been invited to the Met this year or not and many even claimed they had been barred from the event, clearly the sisters entrance settled them for once.
Unlike her outfit choice last year, Kim K was fairly lowkey with a transparent pearl draped dress from Schiaparelli. Whether you love them or hate them, most critics are in agreement the Kardashian clan turned it out this year.
Lil Nas’s Dose Of Drama

Lil Nas X = Drama? Lil Nas X showed up absolutely enthralling and covered in silver paint, rhinestones, a bejeweled mask and pearls and the sassiest silver boots! Well there wasn’t much else… Like the similarly feline-inspired Doja Cat, he seemed to have a good time meowing at reporters on his way into the event.
Rihanna And Asap Rocky Being Fashionably Late

The Queen is never late, everybody else is simply early. That seems to be the case with RiRi who turned up to the red carpet two hours late. The mum to be attended with her boyfriend Asap Rocky. She donned a dramatic signature Chanel floral Gucci number which later transformed into a cape, while Asap Rocky was dressed in a Kilt over jeans and suited up at top. There were reports of a special guest (case in point, RiRi) turning up in 15 minutes which turned into 2 hours.
Doja Cat Turned Into A Literal Cat

Doja Cat’s name ended up coming in handy for her first Met Gala. The rapper turned to prosthetics to transform into a feline with cat claws for nails and a sequined dress with cat ears. She said her inspiration was her own name (no surprises there) and she wanted to honour the late designer’s muse and pet Choupette.
“I’m just really happy about it and I feel sexy,” she said.
