The Week In Dramas is back and so are your favourite dramas – another week, another episode, sometimes two or three in a row. Yes, we’re talking dramas and if you’re a Pakistani drama fan, you’re in the right place, … read on!

Here’s your weekly recap of the dramas that made it to this week’s Week in Dramas! Coming right up first on the list and in no particular order is…
1. Game-Changing Noor Jahan
If toxic MIL’s had a face and we thought we’d seen them all, Noor Jahan is here to change the game. Not only does she have Safeer under control, (Hunaid is a lost case) but playing the manipulative match maker between Noor Bano & Murad is a calculated move! We’re loving the way both bahus Sumbul & Safina let out their thoughts, one inside her head and one before the mirror. But this time, perhaps Noor Jahan is about to meet her match in Noor Bano! Watch this one for all the dramatic feels!
2. Pas e Deewar Is An Intense Watch
The story heats up as Ujala is caught up in a web of lies and deceit. Pas e Deewar is an intense watch – Shabbir’s evil manipulation, Iftikhar in jail, Ujala’s torment, is really quite spine-chilling. If you’re money-less, have no influence in the big, bad, world and take on the influential, wealthy power lords, you are, but destined to face the consequences. Pas e Deewar might be a drama but the real life feels ring close to home.
Note to makers: Ujala’s makeup in jail can be toned down.
3. Zard Patton Ka Bunn: A Tale Of Miraasi Community
Roshan, oh Roshan, your pain was utterly torturous to watch. ZPKB is retelling the tale of miraasis – traditional folklore tellers, singers and dancers. We need to recognize their rightful place in our cultural heritage. Roshan’s struggle is real and so is our disregard for the profession. Roshan’s ominous words that Meenu will be up next, once he is dealt with, spoke the real and hard truth.
The moment Rishan fought for himself, and Meenu was a moment when time stood still. Roshan’s fury unleashed was a force to be reckoned with. Well done there, the direction and story climaxed to bring an intense moment to our screens, followed by an equally intense interrogation sequence where Dr. Nofil, unfortunately, lost the cause he was fighting for, and his heart!
If ZPKB succeeds in giving a new life and respect to the word Miraasi, consider its job done!
4. Gentleman Was All About The Victory Dance
THAT phone conversation and the victory dance after, that’s all we needed to see in Gentleman’s latest episode. Gentleman takes a light-hearted approach on the dark the reality of our times – street gangs being one of them. Can Iqbal Munna turn over a new leaf? Faaris mian needs to walk away from Zarnab, he’s already losing points as he dines with Mifra, who’s not having any of his two-timing, because she wants it all! Kinda paves the way for Munna, so we’re not complaining!
Faaris you are a disappointment. Zarnab deserves better (and it’s not Rehmati we’re talking about btw)!
5. Emaan Is Our SHEro in Radd!
Emaan is our answer to all the world’s injustices, or at least the ones meted out to Salaar! Our SHEro is flipping things at the Salaar residence. Zaamin and Sheila beware – that breakfast table was happening! It is interesting to see a hero gain strength from his heroine – that face-off with Kamran, though a tad unbelievable, showed us that Salaar is about to do a flip on his family – aah, the power of one woman says it all!
P.S. Do you think Emaan will fall in love with Salaar or … is she already in love but doesn’t know it yet? (Forget Zain for a bit, will you?)
6. Dua is Out Of The Frying Pan & Into The Fire In Jaan Nisar
What is it about Jaan Nisar that’s keeping us hooked to three episodes a week? Is it Dua’s misery – out of the frying pan into the fire she goes! But of course, Nosherwan will save her, just in time! For that, you gotta watch the whole story. We’re happy to see Faraz squirming, worried and anxious about his deed being found out. Poor Fiza doesn’t deserve any of this though.
Should Kashmala let go of Noshwerwan or try even harder o win his heart (is that even possible). What is it they say? If you love something, set it free, if it comes back to you, it is yours, if it doesn’t, it never was. Kashmala jee, take note… though, just a heads up, it might not come back to you!
7. New Drama On the Block Is Teri Chhaon Mein
And it’s Salaar and Wadima – Love At First Sight! Why is it so hard for Pakistani drama couples to find love? Because the steely samaaj ki deewar rears its predictable head in the form of a parent. Wadima’s father drives a hard bargain – a suffocating presence in her life. But poor Salaar has no clue what he’s up against. Watch this one because Laiba Khurram and Danish Taimoor seem to be a promising onscreen pair.
First episode of Teri Chhaon Mein had us in a mix of smiles, curiosity and anxiety, something predictable yet intriguing about this one!
And that’s it from us on The Week In Dramas. Tell us what you’re watching and which one you missed!
