In a candid chitchat with FUCHSIA, Pakistani actor Zarrar Khan shared some interesting facts about himself that we’re excited to reveal – things we bet you didn’t know!
Zarrar Khan, Pakistan’s rising star whose talent shines across multiple realms is making his mark as an actor, model, and chef. Zarrar has captured the hearts of many on Instagram with his versatile skills and charming presence. Recently, he has made waves with his impressive roles in notable projects like College Gate and the Eid telefilm Janay Koun Thi Haseena. Currently, he’s drawing attention with his performance as Moiz in the drama Jafaa. Whether on screen or in the kitchen, Zarrar’s star power is truly on the rise.

1. Let’s Get Cooking. How did you come up with this idea as your signature style?
Zarrar Khan: “Lets Get Cooking! Mein ne ye catchphrase isliye choose kia tha kyun k mein ne ye notice kia tha k meri generation k jo larke or larkiyan hein unko kitchen me jane se ya cooking karne se eik ajeeb si hesitation hoti hai as if like koi stigma tha. So that’s why, I wanted to convince people and promote cooking because it’s a very very necessary life skill”

2. Moiz from Jafaa or Wahaj from College Gate? Who is more like Zarrar?
Zarrar Khan: “I think Wahaj, because Wahaj is more like me. He’s dedicated to his passions, he wants to do what he wants to do in life, he’s trying to break the mold and go against the stereotypes. So, I feel Wahaj is the character that is more like me!
Zarrar and Wahaj seem to be kindred spirits, both on a mission to break molds and chase dreams!
3. Zarrar Khan, the actor or the cook, pick one!
Zarrar Khan: “Uff, this one is hard to choose. But, I will go with Zarrar Khan, the cook because cooking was my first passion and something I was really interested in and always wanted to do. So, I don’t think I can let go of it!”

4. How was it like working with Sehar Khan. Tell us in one sentence.
Zarrar Khan: “Sehar Khan k sath kaam karne ka mujhe bohat maza aaya tha. She’s very fun, she’s extremely good at what she does and she’s very helpful. I think if your co-actor has these qualities then your time on set will go very smoothly.”
5. How & Where did you learn to cook?
Zarrar Khan: “I think mujhe bachpan se hi khana bananay me bohat maza aata tha. I remember when I was 6-7 yeas old, I used to make noodles for myself and thankfully my mom was someone who didn’t stop me from going in to the kitchen. Then, I started watching cooking shows on TV when I was younger. I remember watching Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsey, Nigella Lawson, and all these people really inspired me to cook.”

6. The quickest recipe you can give us. Always a hit.
Zarrar Khan: “If you want to impress someone, here’s the best and easiest recipe for you. Take olive oil, 4-5 garlic cloves, half kg of really good tomatoes, cook them together, throw in some salt and chilli flakes, add your boiled pasta, top it off with a little bit of parmesan and voila, that’s it! Your ultimate easiest recipe for success!”

7. The Chef or a person you have been inspired by and would love to cook with.
Zarrar Khan: “The person that I would want to cook with is Nigella Lawson because I got inspired by her the most when I was a kid. And I think till now, I’m following her cooking style. So, yes it would be Nigella Lawson.”
8. If you could play any historical figure in a biopic, who would it be?
Zarrar Khan: “I think if I ever get a chance to play a historical figure, it would’ve to be either Jansher Khan or Jahangir Khan because they are the heroes of Pakistan. They both were the superstars of their time. And I feel like, being someone who’s very much into athletics, if I ever get a chance to play any of these heroes, it would be a great opportunity for me!”

9. Your best friend in the industry?
Zarrar Khan: “I don’t think I can name one because my best friends are Khaqan, Mamya, Danyal, Hamza, Natalia. All of these guys are my best friends because we’ve entered the industry together and known each other for so long.”

Zarrar Khan: “Agar Moiz mera dost hota tou me usko sabse pehle ye samjhata k bhaijaan, neend ki golian khane se kuch solve nahi hoga tou ye nahi karna! Dusri baat main usko ye kehta k, sometimes good things have to fall apart so that better things can fall together. So, be patient, be kind, let yourself heal and let go.”
