Is Numair interested in Deebu but only to lose hope after he overhears Zara telling her about Moiz’s suicide attempt and clearing his misconceptions in Deebu’s mind? Did dado just manipulate Zara into staying on with her mentally disturbed grandson Hassan in Jafaa?
Direction To Detail
What a brilliant execution of how Hassan loses it completely in anger and jealousy and locks Zara in the room. Attention to detail about how he goes back to get the phone must be appreciated. We also loved that the execution of the scene was not stereotypical; Hassan was not physically aggressive, or Zara didn’t go into hysterics or react emotionally with excessive screaming or crying. They both operated within the realm of how their characters are shown to be so far. The scene kept you completely hooked and a little scared for Zara.
Hassan’s Backstory
What Zara should have been told before marriage is revealed to her now – about Hassan’s past and his mother. But seems like even now she hasn’t been told the entire truth. The look that dado gives towards the end of the conversation seemed evil and made one doubt her intentions.
Abuse Victim Alert
We wait to see how the drama tackles Zara’s decision to stay on with Hassan despite having enough reasons of abuse to leave him. But at this moment, this narrative is questionable and needs to be handled with multiple sensitivities, to make sure all angles are covered. This cannot be a black and white decision that yes, a wife should not leave her husband who might have mental health issues, but rather, needs to be considered on a case-to-case basis.

Or is the drama taking the route to highlighting that a normal person cannot heal anyone with mental health issues and they must seek professional help. Most importantly, girls must not try to play healers and perhaps, move away from such relationships? However, Zara reassuring Hassan that she will NEVER leave him, instead of having a conversation with him about his insecurities and perhaps even, suggesting therapy, is unfair and possibly triggering to all abuse victims for whom this drama might be a bit too close to reality. Zara represents a mature, empowered young woman, and for her to react in this manner might send out the wrong message or influence others who are seeking answers to their situation.
A Miss In Storytelling
Numair’s sister should have called Numair or Deebu’s family when she saw her sitting in a strange car and going away. She should not have just let it go. The mother in-law is too toxic and the conversation in the kitchen on merely reheating the breakfast was too much. But maybe this is what it will take for Numair to take extreme action. Along with two stories, the drama keeps reminding viewers about the importance of parents in a subtle way. How Deebu remembers her mother preparing the breakfast for her, making it fresh at that moment, as opposed to the cold breakfast being served to her.
