Ramsha says “yes” to the one who asks her first. Saahir gets away with a well-planned move, and Farhan, who is busy with an image makeover to win over the love of his life, has no clue that the wheels have been set in motion, the odds stacked against him, and that 27th March is a date he might never forget, if all happens according to Saahir’s plan! Catch the latest episode review of Agar Tum Sath Ho.
Agar Tum Sath Ho is turning out to be a somewhat thrilling watch, the drama is fast-paced, throws us two male protagonists who are totally set apart from each other – one, Farhan who is the underdog, trusting, transparent, super cute, yet non-serious at life, juxtaposed with the calculating, focused, achiever in life Saahir. Saahir gets everything he wants, always. However, Farhan has never had to fight for something he really wants, so let’s not discount his competitive sporting streak which should make us realize that he’s not one to give up easily, regardless of how laid-back he seems in other aspects of his life.
But Who Does Ramsha Really Like?
It was interesting to see the exchange between Tania and Ramsha, where Tania attempts to reveal to Ramsha that Farhan did in fact, like Ramsha. It was also interesting to note how a precious moment in life is always incomplete for Ramsha without Farhan’s presence, and how Saahir disregarded this sentiment (for obvious reasons), but also lost some brownie points in ours (and possibly Ramsha’s) eyes. But what might have been tweaked a bit by the drama creators is how Ramsha seemed to fall along with the elders’ plans – but then before one wonders if she even has a mind of her own, let’s just assume that she’s just too well-mannered to voice her opinion in a sea of adult decisions that supersede her own preferences?

Ramsha, An Inclusive Representation of Us
Often, we are quick to call out characters for not being vocal enough, and often we complain they speak up too much and too loudly. Ramsha seems to be balanced somewhere in between, or at least we hope so. Because, well, a Mawra Hocane character deserves that much food for thought. That coupled with a Radain Shah script and Adnan Sarwar direction might make us second guess our initial reactions.
Wait on, says the inner voice – abhi tau picture shuruh huwi hai!
Agar Tum Sath Ho is not fielding the self-confident female lead who proposes to the guy before he does. Ramsha is a regular young adult who is independent, works a day job, but is also comfortable with her parents calling the shots on her marriage. She feels they can make the best decision for her, yet, despite us wanting her to have her say, it is a refreshing departure and an inclusive representation of young girls who still exist – despite what many narratives today that latch onto the trend of the girl proposing first, almost always, as if, that’s the way to garner applause, have us believe – yes, this might be a great message, but it has been done to death really. So, it is actually great to see a female lead who is not totally sure of her mind yet expresses it when asked for her opinion.
With Ramsha, one must read between the lines. She tells Farhan that she’s happy with him just the way he is. She also tells him not to go to Lahore, but then, like any good friend, she reminds herself not to be selfish and tells him she has his best at heart, wishing him well.
Farhan vs. Saahir: Who’s the Red Flag?
It is also interesting to note that while Farhan seems to care about consent, though not outwardly, but certainly in his actions, Saahir seems to be forcing a very important life decision on Ramsha – but because he is Saahir, who can never get anything wrong, everything seems to fall right into place for him. Tell us if you agree that the red flags among us come in many shades, and Saahir just manifested one of them, fooling almost everyone around him.
It is understandable that Ramsha might not be conscious of her liking for Farhan, or that she assumes Farhan has no love interest in her and hence, she does not speak her mind, but we have to say that Farhan trying to make something of himself before springing the question on Ramsha is not such a bad idea after all. Has Saahir just hurt his own cause by turning Farhan into a young, ambitious, corporate style eligible bachelor?
It’s All In The Script
The recent episode also made us, the audience, gravitate 100% towards a possible Farhan and Ramsha jori. While Saahir’s sinister side was revealed in earlier episodes too, but his sneaky planning in which Naveen too, is involved, makes us even more invested in the other side. Not to forget that Farhan has hinted at glimpses of the angry young man beneath his cool exterior – this one is not about to give up on Ramsha, as he proclaims decidedly to Tania, that he has loved only one person wholeheartedly in his life, and that he’ll eliminate anyone who comes in his way!
We also wish Naveen had not been painted in such ultra conspiratorial shades of the “other girl’ whom no one is interested in except those who want to exploit her for their own gains – case in point, Saahir. The character (and actor) carry so much potential which, maybe we are jumping the gun here, might reveal itself later as Naveen treads her journey into the story.
