If you believe in breaking outdated beliefs and rewriting your own destiny, then Meri Uraan (an upcoming telefilm) will speak directly to your heart.

If You’ve Ever Been Told “You’re Just A Girl” – Meri Uraan Is Your Story!

Pakistani dramas have always had the power to ignite change – not just entertain, but inspire. Through responsible storytelling, they spark crucial conversations and shift perspectives. 7th Sky Entertainment has consistently led the charge with strong, socially relevant narratives (Doosra Chehra, Hashtag, Baylagaam, and more), and now they’re back with another impactful story that dives deep into an age-old mindset – but this time, with a refreshing twist.

Meri Uraan is written by the acclaimed Zanjabeel Asim Shah and directed by the talented Shehrazade Sheikh and Muskaan Kadwani. The drama is produced by Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi under the banner of 7th Sky Entertainment, a name known for bringing impactful stories to life. The cast features Anika Zulfikar, Syed Shahroz Sabzwari, Hina Bayat, Simi Raheal, Farhan Ally Agha, Laila Wasti, Shabbir Jaan, Adnan Jaffar, Tara Mahmood, Hamzah Tariq Jamil, and Akbar Islam.

When A Girl Dares To Dream Big… Meri Uraan Begins

At the center of Meri Uraan is Roha, played by rising star Anika Zulfikar – and she’s not your typical girl-next-door. She’s sharp, ambitious, and fiercely independent. Her dream? To start her own construction company, “Malik Builders” – a field traditionally dominated by men. But dreams this big don’t come easy, especially when the greatest hurdles are not from society, but from the family meant to support you. And from what we’ve seen so far, Anika seems to deliver a moving performance, bringing both vulnerability and strength to Roha’s journey – making her story all the more real and relatable.

Simi Raheal plays that dadi we all know – the one who showers you with love, cheers you on, and seems like your biggest supporter. But as the teasers suggest, when it comes to choosing between standing by Roha or giving in to tradition, she quietly takes a step back – slipping into the same bandwagon of pressure and expectations.

When women are thriving in every field – Meri Uraan adds another powerful story to this wave. Roha isn’t just chasing a career – she’s fighting for the right to dream big and be taken seriously.

And at the heart of this story lies one jarring line that sums up the mindset Roha is up against:

“Larki ki taleem pe jitna bhi kharch kar lo bhai, beti beti hi rehti hai, beta nahi banti.”

Shabbir Jaan as Taya Jee

Delivered by veteran actor Shabbir Jaan, it’s not just a line – it’s a generational belief system that Roha is ready to challenge.

“Agar aapki nazar mein betiyon ko dar kar, seham kar, doosron ke peecha chhup kar rehna chahiye… toh maaf kijiye ga, Taya Jaan – main aisi beti nahi hoon.”

Anika Zulfikar as Roha

Roha isn’t holding back – she’s speaking facts and standing her ground. This isn’t just a drama about chasing dreams. It’s about pushing back. It’s about what happens when a girl says “no more” to unnecessary limits – even when they come from the people closest to her.

With Shehrazade Sheikh’s refreshing direction- who recently gave us Doosra Chehra, and co-directed by Muskaan Kadwani, the drama brings a feel-good vibe without losing emotional depth. And of course, Zanjabeel Asim Shah’s writing makes sure every dialogue hits home – raw, real, and unforgettable, just like it did in Habil Aur Qabil.

Will Roha be able to rise above it all and build something that’s entirely her own? Or will the weight of expectations and outdated thinking hold her back?

Keep an eye out for this telefilm – because Roha’s fight to be free, to fly, and to build her own future might just feel a lot like yours.
