Time to revisit the drama scenes that impressed us this week. Let’s take a moment to applause the moments that turned heads onscreen in the week that was. From Muamma to Aik Aur Pakeezah, here’s what needs a special mention before the week is over!

1. Aik Aur Pakeezah
When Faraz reached out wanting to touch Pakeezah’s hand or hold her finger as she slept, the scene swiftly transitioned into the past – the two of them sitting across a table and wanting to reach out, hold hands, Pakeezah holding him back only to say they wait till they’re husband and wife – the moment and the memory held a poignant, heavy intensity as reality sunk in – they were married, but still couldn’t hold hands, or at least, Faraz, despite wanting to desperately, knew he couldn’t risk alarming her. The scene held a multitude of emotions between its frames – mirroring Faraz’s pain, trauma and longing coming together in a brutal moment of realization – they were finally married but this was not how he had ever imagined it to be.

When mummy engaged Zubair in a conversation that suddenly turned into an inquisition of sorts – she mentioned ‘halkay ghar kay log’, herself included, making Zubair visibly uncomfortable. Hina Bayat and Mirza Gohar Rasheed played this one with flawless tone, expression and dialogue – you could cut the air with a knife, such was the tension in the moment, with Mummy’s cool monologue as Zubair squirmed in his seat, totally at a loss for words. Well played both, the scene did what it was meant to – leave an impact, a big one!

Pakeezah with tears running down her face, eating the roti, moments earlier, demanding Faraz to tell her why his sister wanted to see him, the camera lens zoomed out from the street below as Faraz made his way to work, Pakeezah in the foreground, tears trickling down her cheek, Faraz walking away into the night, the window frame accentuating the scene – the frames and expressions said it all. Sehar Khan performed with all heart and a shout out to the director for adding perspective to a scene – hugely impactful and one that stuck with viewers long after the episode was over.

2. Kafeel
When Jami and his family have a face-off and he turns victim all of a sudden, threatening to harm himself, the entire scene spiraled in a matter of moments. From Zeba fending him off and protecting her children to Subuk trying to restrain himself against his father, yet standing firm before his sisters – the dramatic timing, escalation and performances all matched up to give us an intense scene that might even have been hugely triggering for some, such was the real feel of this one. Everyone from Emmad Irfani, Sanam Saeed and Aashir Wajahat gave it their all. Shout out to the director for a great edit. Well played Team Kafeel.

3. SharPasand
When Farasat tells Rubina to prepare food for Fida as well, the glee in his voice as he feels he’s finally going to make a dent in Fida and Sanam’s ‘happily ever after’, reminded us once more how SharPasand is still keeping us invested. Farasat can’t contain his emotions and though a brief scene, this one stayed with us as he prepared to mark another sinister win on the cards. Performances from both Nadia Afgan and Naumaan Ijaz spoke volumes.

4. Muamma
Jiji watching through the glass, Jiji planning to secretly switch the mirror, the handyman shattering the glass to get to the other side – the entire scene was enacted with attention to detail right down to the piece of broken glass on the floor. Well played team Muamma and a shout out to the director for giving us one hundred percent entertainment and keeping us wholly invested in the suspicious ongoings at Jahan Ara’s house.

And that’s it from us on the drama scenes that impressed this week. Drop us a comment below if you think we missed any.
