Ramazan dramas are keeping the evenings light amidst all the regional tension that clouds our skies right in the midst of the holy month. While our social media feeds relate the latest war stories from around the world, there was perhaps, no better time to grab a moment of relief, post iftar and that cup of chai needs company – Fasaana Mart Ka is one such story that can keep you distracted while you sip that cuppa.

So, if you haven’t caught up already, here’s what you need to know to catch up on Fasaana Mart Ka.
It’s all happening inside a shopping mart where Rizwan, Zara, Aneela, Nida, Aslam, Bilal and Khalid share a workspace. These mart employees come to work every day, and the drama follows their stories – whether they be love, a dream to fulfill, a random encounter with a customer, an incident at work that brings them all together to work as a team or simply, the comic shenanigans that make one break into a smile and sit back to enjoy this not too deep yet enjoyable story about employees at work who bring something more to their workplace.
Rizwan is an aspiring cricketer, working a day job at the mart and participating in night matches to try and further his dream for being selected to play at national level. Zara hopes to one day follow her dream as a fashion designer and also works at the mart. Both Shuja Asad and Aena Khan deliver engaging performances.
But that’s not all. There’s Aslam who’s chronically late and has a story to tell every day about why he couldn’t make it to work on time. Aneela who manages them all and is marked next in line when her boss Khalid (who recently lost his wife) might leave for Canada. But has Aneela fallen for him?
Then there’s Bilal who serves up pastries everyday and flexes his work in an earlier life, at a Michelin star restaurant in Italy. His daily antics are amusing and add punch to the story. Nida has joined the workplace as an intern. She too, just needed a place to work where she could find peace and sanity away from a troubled home life.
The cast gels well together and the setting – inside a mart, is a refreshing change from the everyday dramas we watch onscreen. It is amusing to see how they manage a variety of customers, solve daily workplace problems as well as navigate their personal lives.
The drama wins for delivering a light watch with characters that do not need to be hyped by being toxic or unnecessarily negative. Watch as you unwind at iftar and catch up what these the employees of Fasaana Mart will be up to next week.
