Hurmat and Tabish’s relationship has taken quite a turn, and the change in her behaviour has certainly given viewers plenty to discuss.

When we first met Hurmat, she seemed completely smitten with Tabish. She wanted to be with him, was eager to marry him, and appeared convinced that he was the man who could finally give her the life she had always wanted. After spending years under Akram’s suffocating control, Tabish seemed like her way out. She was so determined to make this relationship work that getting engaged to him felt like the biggest achievement of her life. However, the moment she began discovering things about the man she was so eager to marry, her enthusiasm started fading.
What makes this change interesting is just how quickly Hurmat went from wanting to marry Tabish at any cost to questioning whether she wanted to marry him at all. Of course, there is nothing wrong with changing your mind, particularly when you are making a decision as important as marriage. In fact, Hurmat has every right to reconsider her choice once she learns more about her prospective husband. But viewers cannot help noticing the contrast between the girl who was practically chasing this relationship and the one who now seems keen to distance herself from it. Was she really in love with Tabish, or was she more in love with the idea of finally having someone who could take her away from her father’s restrictions?
The discussion around Hurmat has also brought up an interesting question: does she actually want to understand the people she becomes attached to, or does she simply enjoy the version of them she creates in her head? Her initial fascination with Tabish was largely built around what he represented. He was confident, successful, well-established and, most importantly, someone who appeared very different from Akram. But once she discovered that Tabish had his own childhood trauma and emotional baggage, she seemed to lose interest rather quickly. Her friend Kainat tried to make her understand that everyone has a past and that having experienced trauma does not automatically make someone a bad partner. However, Hurmat appeared unwilling to consider that possibility. This has become a major point of discussion online, with the focus being on how quickly she pursued Tabish and how quickly she began questioning the relationship once she discovered that he wasn’t quite the person she had imagined.
And now, just when we thought Hurmat might take some time to process everything, Zeeshan has caught her attention! Her conversations about him make it seem as though she is already impressed by his intelligence, ideas and the way he thinks. There is nothing wrong with admiring someone, of course, but the timing is rather interesting. She went from being completely taken by Tabish to finding reasons to distance herself from him, and now she seems equally fascinated by someone new. It almost feels as though Hurmat is constantly looking for someone who fits the picture of an ideal man in her mind. The moment that man shifts from her ideal expectations, she seems to back off. Is Zeeshan simply someone she finds interesting, or are we watching her develop another attachment before she has even dealt with the previous one?
This is also why the red flag discussion around Hurmat has gained so much attention.
The online conversation has questioned whether she is being unnecessarily harsh towards Tabish, especially when he has been quite vocal about wanting to spend his life with her. At the same time, there is an argument to be made for Hurmat’s hesitation. She has spent her entire life watching her mother suffer in a controlling marriage. She is terrified of repeating Nafeesa’s fate and may be beginning to recognise things in Tabish that remind her of her father. When you have witnessed an unhealthy marriage up close, it is natural to think about what life with someone might look like years down the road. Tabish’s reluctance to let Hurmat complete her degree before marriage is another issue that has added to these concerns.
However, there is another side to this discussion that is worth considering. Hurmat has every right to change her mind about Tabish, and nobody should be expected to marry someone simply because they were once excited about the relationship. But there is a difference between recognising genuine incompatibilities and expecting people to fit an idealised version of themselves. Tabish’s past is not something he chose, and his childhood experiences do not automatically make him incapable of being a good husband. The online discussion has also raised questions about whether Hurmat ever understood what she wanted from this relationship in the first place.
Perhaps the bigger question is whether Hurmat is confusing attraction with compatibility. She wanted Tabish so badly when he represented freedom, but now that she has started seeing him as an actual person with his own fears, insecurities and difficult past, she is no longer as interested. And with Zeeshan now catching her attention, viewers have another reason to question her choices. We can understand where her fears come from without agreeing with every decision she makes. Hurmat is clearly a flawed young woman trying to figure out her life, but is she being fair to the people she gets emotionally involved with? There’s plenty of discussion around her choices on X, so let’s take a look at what people are saying below!
