Shaurya Aur Anokhi – The mother-son duo were the highlight of this week’s episodes!
Week Ending: 12 June 2021
On this week’s episodes of Shaurya aur Anokhi ki Kahani many unresolved chapters came to a definite conclusion while simultaneously, we saw new relationships finding it hard to cope up with new challenges. A refreshing twist to the story unwrapped this week when Shaurya broke the ice with his mother and tried to start afresh. The mother-son duo were the highlight of this week’s episodes. They made us teary-eyed in the true sense of the word! The actors executed on point performances by striking a subtle balance between fully emoting with heart & soul, & yet not going OTT onscreen.
Shaurya rebuilding his relationship with his mother was a much-needed addition to the story. Especially, when the significance of Astha’s character will dramatically increase now that Shaurya has decided to fight for his love! Knowing that his mother will be his anchor in hard times gives the viewers much relief and hope that there is a promising story line to look forward to!
And working in parallel, we witnessed Anokhi fighting her own battle back in Chandigarh, where she was rusticated from college. But our fiery queen refused to step down and decided to fight the battle on her own. Though we do wish she had communicated all this to Shaurya herself rather than her friend doing it for her. It would have highlighted the trust and comfort level they share with each other. However, we do understand they have to tread a long road before they arrive at that one!
A little misconception?
It is difficult to judge whether Anokhi’s decision to step out of Shaurya’s life after Tej blackmailed her was the right one. We do understand Anokhi feels that the most selfless she can be is by breaking her ties with Shaurya. Despite her trying to be altruistic and protecting Shaurya, will she eventually hurt him even more? Will Shaurya be content in spite of having everything and not his Anokhi? Or is Anokhi right in her judgment that taking away Shaurya’s life from him will never allow them to be truly happy with one another and one day Shaurya might regret it? This week Debattama nailed it with her performance. Her portrayal of Anokhi made us feel a mixture of emotions for her. While we respected Anokhi’s emotions, her complete disregard for Shaurya’s pain and feelings did dishearten us a bit. But then, has loving someone ever been easy? Sometimes it is not the world you are fighting against but instead with your inner self. You restrain yourself from loving that person just because you are petrified of the consequences. While sometimes you are afraid that love might not be enough to overcome all the differences, at times, you just feel too vulnerable to express yourself fully.

Well, next week an exciting new plot twist awaits us. With Shaurya now knowing the partial truth behind Anokhi’s actions, how will he deal with it in a subtle manner, through which he is able to convince his family to accept Anokhi while protecting her as well?
