Here’s a list of actors who impressed us with their performances this week – Adeel Husain, Zoya Nasir, Durab Khalil and more!

Usman Javed as Torsum in Zanjeerain
Usman Javed is acing the villain who almost wins our sympathy on one hand but then, flips instantly to reveal his dark side. Special mention for the scene where he holds up Biya’s brother Tayyab and shows us what he is capable of when provoked.
Sahar Hashmi as Sher Bano in Zanjeerain
Sahar totally embraces the soft-feel, endearing heroine who is head-over-heels in love with her hero. Yet she plays it subtle and we do not get a sugary sweet performance that is hard to digest. Sher Bano is winning hearts from episode one and we’re rooting for her.
Farhan Saeed as Anas in Bas Tera Saath Ho
Farhan Saeed plays Anas with a signature intensity. From his expressions and tone to his helpless yet restrained body language, Farhan has managed to deliver a character that has struck a chord with audiences in just the first two episodes. Well played.
Sana Javed as Ansa in Bas Tera Saath Ho
Sana Javed takes on Ansa with a personality that is positive yet not too bubbly. There is a reassuring and uplifting feel about Ansa even though she has her own challenges in life. Sana has managed to balance both sides without one overstepping the other – hers is a refreshing presence in the story.
Faran Tahir as Mursaleen in Bas Tera Saath Ho
Faran Tahir delivers an impactful performance as Mursaleen, the father who is willing to do anything for his son but also snaps instantly when he finds out Shayan failed the exams. Looking forward to seeing how far Mursaleen will go to safeguard his family’s interests – or will he flip eventually?
Zoya Nasir as Shareen in Bas Tera Saath Ho
Zoya Nasir nearly fooled as into thinking Shareen had a soft corner for Anas. But then emerged the deep-seated hatred and toxicity that caught us off-guard. Zoya is delivering a typically negative role in an intriguing way, instantly drawing audiences to the many shades in Shareen.
Adeel Hussain as Kabir in Sirf Shabana
Adeel Hussain as Faizaan is taking on the new-age hero. His frustration, restrained anger and confusion is very well portrayed as he struggles with his feelings and confides in his dadi. Great onscreen chemistry with his c- actors makes this character a pleasure to watch.
Durab Khalil as Bilal in Sirf Shabana
We look forward to Bawla’s scenes in Sirf Shabana. He gives us a great mix of humour, quiet sadness, poetic hero and a journey from a so-called bumbling fool of the village to a confident, proud young man. It is great to watch him onscreen and his onscreen interactions with Tara and Shabana are endearing to watch.
Kubra Khan as Saniya in Doctor Bahu
Saniya’s sense of helplessness and feeling cornered is so aptly essayed by Kubra. Especially when she gave up on going for er residency interview, the sheer pain of dealing with her messy in-laws and toxic mother was tangible. Well done Kubra we’re rooting for Saniya to find a way!
Adeel Husain as Faizaan in Doctor Bahu
Adeel Husain is giving us a character who is helpless before a dominating father yet capable of so much more. His interactions with Minna and Dr. Amber show the two different sides to Faizaan’s character – one, unforgiving and selfish, the other, vulnerable and possibly in love. The struggle is evident from Faizaan’s body language – unhappy and not in control of his destiny.
Hajra Yamin as Minna in Doctor Bahu
Hajra aces the role where she is at times, confident and in control and at times, totally helpless, especially before her father in-law. Her final showdown with Faizaan was powerfully performed – fiery, well-timed and intense – Hajra’s frustration and rage was aptly portrayed and won the scene.
