Aik Mohabbat Aur has come to an end, and while the story gave us plenty to talk about, it also left us thinking about everything it could have been. The premise had all the ingredients for a meaningful story about love, healing and second chances—but somewhere along the way, some of those pieces never quite came together.
And it’s a wrap, but here’s how the packaging could have worked better.
Khushbakht – The Heroine Missing in Action
If only Khushbakht could be the heroine of her own story—at least partially.
Second Chance at Love: Acceptance, Not Perfection
If only Aik Mohabbat Aur — a story about a second chance at love—acknowledged that a woman struggles to love again, but can eventually learn to trust someone without expecting him to be impossibly perfect.
Empowering Your Heroine
If only Haroon were there to empower Khushbakht, rather than overpower her at every turn.
Wisdom Thy Name Can Be Woman
If only Khushbakht showed us that despite her struggles, there were moments where she embodied real strength and wisdom.
Team Work vs Me Work
If only the two of them worked as a team, instead of one person constantly fighting the world for the one he loves while the other constantly doubts his intentions.
Mental Health: The Story that Needed Answers
If only the supporting plotline—Faris and Maham’s story—had fully addressed a grave mental health issue rather than leaving it as an incomplete arc with more questions than answers.
Perfection: Giving vs Asking
If only Khushbakht and Haroon could complete each other and show us that everyone deserves Aik Mohabbat Aur — a second chance at love—not because they found a perfect partner, but because they tried to become one.
The Power of a power couple
If only they realized that neither of them needed to be perfect; each is strong in their own way, and together, they are even stronger.

And perhaps that is the biggest “if only” of them all. Aik Mohabbat Aur had the potential to tell a story about two imperfect people finding their way back to love, but it sometimes got caught up in making love look like a battle that only one person had to fight. Still, if nothing else, it leaves us wondering what could have happened if the story had given its characters—and itself—a little more room to grow.
