Celebrated actress and entrepreneur, Alia Bhatt‘s brand Ed-a-Mamma is one to look out for. It’s not every day that we think about how the clothes we wear affect our mother earth however Alia’s brand has provoked us to think about it! Back in 2020, she launched her startup with the name of Eda-a-Mamma.

Eda-a-Mamma describes itself as “a brand that cares. About children. About the earth.” In a video note on the website, Alia Bhatt spoke about what the label means to her and her thought process behind it. “Ed-a-Mamma combines two things I care deeply about: Our planet and our children. Our first offering is a range of thoughtfully designed playwear for children. Ed-a-Mamma will also be a series of books and so much more. All designed to help us put our planet first and build a conscious generation, one product at a time.”
What Sets It Apart?
To further the idea of “conscious clothing”, Eda-a-Mamma uses plant based and degradable fabric and plastic free buttons. Secondly the tags can be reused as book marks and the leftover scrapes will be used to create fun accessories. Each garment will be shipped with a seed echoing the label’s purpose to “create a world that nurtures in children, a love for nature.”
