The recent court filings in the Winery legal battle between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has added fuel to the fire as Jolie claims that she was abused by her former husband. Read in detail about it below.
Background
The Brangelina divorce took the world by storm in 2016. Angelina claimed that Brad Pitt had a drinking problem which was a major reason for their parting.
Earlier this year Pitt instigated a lawsuit against Angelina Jolie accusing her of violating his contractual rights when she sold her shares of their French winery, Château Miraval to Tenute del Mondo, a subsidiary of Stoli Group. According to Pitt there was a mutual understanding between both the parties that neither of them will sell their shares without the consent of the parties in question.
On the contrary, Jolie claims that Brad Pitt had pulled out of this deal himself as a result of her not agreeing to sign an NDA which would prohibit her from speaking about the details of their marriage outside the courtroom.
Recent Development
On Tuesday, Angelina Jolie filed a cross-complaint. The court files disclosed the details of how Brad Pitt abused her and their children.
BBC reported that the star began shouting, accusing her of being “too deferential to the children”. Shortly into the flight, Brad Pitt “pulled her into the bathroom” in the back of the plane, says the lawsuit.
“Pitt grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her, and then grabbed her shoulders and shook her again before pushing her into the bathroom wall,” the filing adds.
“Pitt then punched the ceiling of the plane numerous times, prompting Jolie to leave the bathroom.”
After one child verbally intervened, Mr. Pitt “lunged at his child”, says the filing. Ms. Jolie then “grabbed him from behind to stop him”, according to the court papers.
“To get Jolie off his back, Pitt threw himself backward into the airplane’s seats injuring Jolie’s back and elbow,” the legal filing continues. “The children rushed in and all bravely tried to protect each other. Before it was over, Pitt choked one of the children and struck another in the face.”
However, sources claimed to BBC that Jolie’s claims are false. “She continues to rehash, revise and reimagine her description of an event that happened six years ago by adding completely untrue information each time she fails to get what she wants,” said the source. “Her story is constantly evolving.”
The star couple was together for 12 years and are parents to 6 children.
