Despite an interesting and fast-paced storyline with a positive message, the drama is not really evoking the emotional uplift that we hope to see with scripts depicting such struggles and heroic acts. What about you?
The narrative is definitely doing great job highlighting the struggles faced by women when they live alone and do not have a man in their lives. When a young girl goes out to work, she faces multiple challenges, from harassment to difficult working conditions, which can sometimes be life threatening.
Bakhtawar’s Bold But Is That All She Needs:
Bakhtawar’s bravery and resilience is admirable but somehow, we are not able to connect with her or root for her. Are we just like the society around us who cannot accept her boldness and her drive to not compromise ? Do we also think she is being foolish and should show a bit more patience. E.g. when she refuses to work longer hours for a meagre pay?
Is it the direction or never-ending list of challenges thrown at her, or the fact that all characters around Bakhtawar fail to impress us, or fail to make us feel for her, as opposed to how it happened in Parizaad?
An Interesting Twist
The decision to cut her hair and pretend to be a man came as a surprise. The story took an unexpected turn and made us curious as to what will happen next ?
