Here’s how the Balochistan Chief Minister apologized to Mahira Khan for the incident at the Pakistan Literature Festival.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti publicly apologized to Mahira Khan on Friday for an incident where an audience member threw an object at her while she was on stage at an event. Fortunately, the object only grazed her side. The incident occurred when Mahira Khan was addressing the Pakistan Literature Festival (PLF) organized by the Karachi Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP) in Quetta.
Mahira Khan’s talk with Wajahat Rauf at the Pakistan Literature Festival was disrupted by an object hurled onto the stage. She was momentarily stunned, prompting her to pause her conversation and utter “Yeh ghalat ho gaya”, as she addressed the crowd. Despite the shock, Khan displayed admirable composure as she addressed the incident, expressing disappointment at the lack of respect in such circumstances.
The Chief Minister, Balochistan, who also spoke at the festival’s closing session, condemned the incident and expressed regret over the behaviour of the individual responsible.
“Ek Individual nay jo Mahira Khan kay sath kia, ek individual nay, mai uski muzamat bhi karta houn aur mai behsatiya Balochistani sharminda bhi hou aur Mahira Khan ap say maafi ka talagbaar bhi houn. Wo poora Balochistan ko represent nae karta, wo ek individual hai.” he said, netizens are appreciating this gesture of his and calling it kind and courteous. His statement came after Mahira addressed the incident via an Instagram video of her at the event.
The incident had sparked outrage among the entertainment industry, fans and the general audiences who called out this disrespectful act, expressing solidarity with Mahira Khan and commended her grace in handling the situation extremely well, managing the public, and still demonstrating love for her fans exemplifies how she possesses the patience, grace, and love in her heart not to condemn the location, the individuals involved, or the event itself.
Previously as the news spread, Filmmaker and actor, Sarmad Ali Sultan reposted Mahira’s video on his Instagram story with the caption, “Ganga being her gentle and generous self, like always. Please read the note she has written so graciously and gracefully. Love you, Mahira.”
