In this week’s episode, the Boss (everyone’s favorite, Wali’s guardian angel, played by Meesam Naqvi himself) passes away, and it’s revealed the character’s name was Aamir Naqvi, a nod to the late guitarist. Meesam chose to coin Amir (first name) with his own, Naqvi (last surname) to bring this character onscreen as a silent nod to the musical legend whom he says was his mentor – an inspiration in his life who, sadly, left too soon. No elaborate speeches, no overdone sentiment, just a simple gesture, a name that carried weight for anyone who knew what it meant. It was the kind of tribute Zaki himself might have appreciated: understated, yet impossible to miss for those who’d been touched by his music.
