This past weekend was chaotic for Pakistani politics. Imran Khan was ousted as the Prime Minister of Pakistan via a no-confidence motion filed by the opposition. During his last address to the nation prior to the voting, Khan called upon the nation to come out on the streets to protest. As a result, thousands of people including celebrities, took to the streets in his support, demanding him back in power.
While the former PM’s supporters were disheartened post the no-confidence voting, the overwhelming crowds and unprecedented scenes from last night’s protest have reaffirmed the hopes of many that their leader will rise again.
The news of his ouster did not sit well with die-hard PTI supporters as well as several Pakistani celebrities. They made sure to put their feelings and support for Imran Khan out on social media. Here’s what they are tweeting.

Emotions are running high as events continue to unfold with each passing day. Pakistan’s political scene has been consumed by uncertainty these past weeks. However, this too shall pass. We hope we see better days for our beloved Pakistan soon.
