It’s not just about the dramas, but also the scenes and how they spin a tale. These drama scenes impressed us the past week and we’re here to give them a mention before episodes (and more scenes), for the next week come up.

1. Sher
Sher and the scene where he explains to Fajar quietly, calmly, positively, just as Sher does, that they can fight this together. That him choosing another life partner is not the solution. Later, when Sher meets with Shujaat, Fajar’s father, convincing him to give his daughter a chance, we loved the shift away from love-torn, super emotional drama heroes and appreciated the mature take on the plot.

Taj Bibi and Dr. Riaz are about to become such an endeaering story. First, when Taj Bibi hesitated and then made an effort after Samra urged her, to strike off a conversation with Dr Riaz. Then, when she thought he still has a wife, but having been told that’s not the case, she tries again, and this time, the conversation is super relatable as she proceeds to find out more about Dr Riaz’s life, how his wife passed away and he discovers more about her. Great performances by both actors and the scripting and execution deserve a shout out!

2. Mohra
Alizay-Areesha face-off over the burnt clothes isn’t the deepest part of the story line we confess, but the drama touched all the sensational, saazishi plot points here – if it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing well. And how Alizay fooled Areesha into thinking she had burnt her clothes was a watch that must have entertained Mohra audiences – guilty as charged!

3. Jinn Ki Shadi Unki Shadi
Oh dear Khushi has really fallen for Ali C. But we love the way she forced the door shut when he was about to undress. The timing, expressions and overall feel of the scene elicited pure amusement and many a smile, we’re sure! Great comic timing there for everyone involved. Jinn Ki Shadi Unki Shadi is turning out to be teh blockbuster we never knew we needed!

When these borther spar, it’s a relatable watch. Asad telling Ali he’s seeing ghosts, and then ragging him on the shirt switch was a spontaneously funny moment. A brief yet entertaining interaction that lifted the dialogues because of how both actors delivered them.

Nadia and Asad battling it out, Nadia jumping from one boulder onto the other, Nadia striking Asad, the scene was gripping and the male voiceover, the expressions, the unruly tresses and the entire choreography and execution of the scene brought it all together so impactfully. Well done team, this one was a great watch!

4. Biryani
This mother-daughter moment made it to our scenes of the week because of the pure aura between these two. Nisa finally relieved that her family approves and thankful that they called him over for dinner. Nisa’s inner happiness, relief and joy communicated through light-hearted banter with her mother, is all a girl needs to feel comfortable and secure in a relationship that has begun to mean the world to her.

When Nisa walks in to the library and Meeran catches sight of her, all dressed up for a wedding, he can’t keep his eyes off her. The scene delivers sheer romance, love feels in the air, and the precious yet sublime moments when young love finds a resting place, but of course, can never truly rest – the heart is not one to listen quietly and Meeran’s gaze, Nisa’s embarrassment speaks volumes between in the unsaid words that hang in the air between these two.

Speaking of unsaid words in the air, the silence was filled in beautifully with a poetic recitation from Gul Mehar – a voiceover with heartfelt poetry from writer Zafar Meraj that captured the mood between these two… we revisit a part of the poem here for those who, like us, fell in love wit the love!
Tera ye phool sa chehra hai zindagi meri, Tujhe hi subh, tujhe shaam kardia main nay, …
Tujhe main kaisay bataoon, ke tu mera kya hai

And that’s it for the drama scenes this week. Tell us if we missed any and which one was your top scene of the week!
