Should Ana have saved Nimra? Does Shahmir need to get in on the action, is Nauroz Adam going to be our grey hero, and what does all this mean for DuniyaPur?

The way we see it, Ana urged Nimra to fight for her rights, but once she went on that path, she was left alone to deal with the consequences. Should Ana have saved her from Nawab’s torture? Or will that mean a sign of weakness from her and sacrifice her position with her father? Ana has a soft heart inside but she’s doing a good job of keeping it hidden while she has her eyes on long term goals, but hopefully she will not have to walk over too many lives to get there.
Shahmir’s Journey
Shahmir on the other hand, has a gradual journey. Are his actions representative of his father’s character, harsh at times and Robinhood like at others? He seems to be lost in action, yet speaks passionately about regaining DuniyaPur, yet not doing much about it, as he loses his pawns one by one – Zabardast Qasai being the latest in a series of defeats.
Or is it that the narrators aim to position a staunchly tough girl character- Ana pitted against a passionate yet soft-hearted hero who, try as he does, can never meet the ruthlessness that accompanies a warrior – one we expect Shahmir to become. Or then again, is it that Shahmir reflects his father’s character vs Ana reflecting her father’s (Nawab) who is winning at cruelty for the time being.
Yet Ana has a human side to her, and possibly a gameplan she wishes not to disclose so far, one that will allow her to reign supreme over the land, her biggest enemy in fact, might not be the Adams, but her own father and we figure she is well aware of that truth.
Ceasefire Talks
The police force initiating talks between the warring clans is a step in the right direction. Also, the idea to divide DuniyaPur between the Nawabs and Adams is a starting point and resonates of many life-like situations in History where such compromises and treaties could lead to a final end to bloodshed and peaceful co-existence. But it will be a rough road ahead as both parties, emotional, raging and full of pride, will prevent any ceasefire from going through.
Also relatable are the forces who will never want them to settle for peace and have a vested interest in the fight and bloodshed to continue. Just pick up the newspaper and you’ll get the DuniyaPur picture in a split second! The storytellers have created a mini planet, though fictional, yet, with uncomfortably real world feels.
Final Thoughts
Aurangzeb’s betrayal has been found out, but it remains to be seen if he can use Shamsher as a pawn to buy his freedom. We hope not as he deserves punishment for his deeds.
Lastly, how is Mir Hassan planning to turn the chapter in his story as an upright policeman, fighting for the rights of the downtrodden? We feel the character promised more than it has delivered so far. We expected a more tough guy role from Mir Hassan, but perhaps, his child’s kidnapping has made him switch perspective, a reality we all must deal with in life, if it ever happens.
