Faraar: Mustafa Afridi is on a roll. Every episode presents new twists and turns and just when you think you have figured out the story, a new angle surprises you completely.

Faraar Is Amping Up The Story At Breakneck Speed!

A big shout out to the director duo of Syed Wajahat Hussain/Musaddiq Malek for brilliant direction, cinematic angles, and attention to detail. It is only fair to say: Faraar = Great performances + engaging x entertaining story + par excellence script + sharp direction.

Bali’s Escape

Bali was ordered to kill Mohsin Baig, and the fact that he was the one who provided proof of Mohsin Baig’s connections with the enemies of QIP, was a complete surprise. Now we can’t wait to find out how Mohsin Baig saved himself, why did Bali leave the QIP yet Batish stayed throughout this time? If Bali had left, why didn’t Batish go with him?

Faraar will not let your brain rest, trying to figure out the endless possibilities behind every story. Batish and Bali’s conversation was scary and surprising at the same time. Will Batish really agree to kill Faraz, the guy who has been saving him till now, who risked his own life and his wife’s life for Batish? Will the drama make Batish’s character a dark grey and void of any conscience?

Mohsin Baig’s Reveal

The best scene was Sadia choosing to tell Fasih about Mohsin Baig and then the two of them facing each other. What a great scene it was. The conversation that follows was so interesting and the way they eye each other, deep in thought, figuring out what to do next was intriguing?

Are you scared for Baggi?

The very things she ran away from, she might be facing yet again and this time, she has nowhere to run to? Just when we thought it would be a simple story of Baggi on the run, we were surprised by the twists and multiple angles. Also, how subdued she seems now with her mother, how tired and defeated she looks, did she really return to face the very Fate she had run away from?

A big shout out to the directors of the drama for the following:

  1. Both Baggi and her mother’s look. So appropriate for the roles they are playing. Simple, realistic, with oiled hair, attire that goes with their characters and setting, making you feel they really belong to the village. Then Baggi, how lifeless she appears, the prints she is wearing now, a big contrast to the Baggi we saw earlier – the details deserve appreciation because they make the watch more credible..
  2. The camera angle in the scene, Baggi looking in the mirror, the rain outside, added to the aesthetics.
  3. When Babrik teaches cooking to his younger brothers, the chicken really is dark brown when the younger brother says it is. The attention to detail is fabulous.
  4. Last but not the least, when Fasih meets Mohsin Baig, Mohsin Baig’s face is half-shrouded in darkness, and we can see Fasih trying to figure out who he is. Then in the next moment, the light is turned on, making Mohsin’s entire face visible, and hence Fasih suddenly realises who he is looking at.

Appreciation to the DOP and direction for giving us these scenes.
