We all know Malala as an incredible Nobel laureate and education advocate, but did you know she’s also got some serious style game going on? Yep, that’s right! Malala knows how to rock her wardrobe like a boss, and she’s got a knack for making a fashion statement. Beyond her unwavering determination and inspiring advocacy, Malala’s fashion choices have become an emblem of her resilience, individuality, and cultural heritage.
While the fashion industry thrives on trends and glamour, Malala’s wardrobe stands out as a vibrant testament to her unique identity. She has transformed the concept of “fashion statement” into a powerful tool that amplifies her voice and sends a message to the world. From her signature headscarves to her contemporary blend of traditional and modern garments, Malala’s fashion choices are a true reflection of her multifaceted personality.
We pay tribute to 5 of her chosen looks on her 26th birthday. Happy Birthday Malala, may you continue to inspire young girls the world over and do it in signature Malala style!
1. Ralph Lauren’s Silver Sequined Gown
“Exhausting but exhilarating”, is how @Malala Yousafzai sums up her first #Oscars. The 25-year-old activist and producer wore a custom @RalphLauren silver sequined gown with a built-in headscarf on the night, accessorised with meaningful jewellery pieces by @LeightonJewels and Santi Jewels. From meeting #Rihanna at the ceremony to her “perfect” after-party dress by @JilSander, Malala kept a diary of her first Oscars weekend for @BritishVogue. (And for the record, she loved Jimmy Kimmel’s jokes.) Click the link in bio to see her photo diary in full.

2. Wedding Dress From Zaaviay
Today marks a precious day in my life. Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead.
3. Lace dress & headscarf By Stella McCartney For Vogue Cover
Thrilled and humbled to be on the cover of @britishvogue! I know the power that a young girl carries in her heart when she has a vision and a mission – and I hope that every girl who sees this cover will know that she can change the world.
Thank you @edward_enninful for creating a British Vogue where all of us belong. Thank you @sirin_kale for your beautiful words.

4. The Estelle By KYNAH At Premiere Of Joyland
So proud that our @joylandmovie won Best International Film at the @filmindependent#SpiritAwards! What an incredible moment for Pakistani artists, the film’s visionary writer and director @saim.sadiq, @onlyalinakhan, @rastisthirdact and @apoorvagc.
I loved seeing so many old and new friends, and celebrating their work. Congrats to all the nominees and winners, especially @quintab and @everythingeverywheremovie

5. White Dress By Ralph Lauren
A lady and her court ????Thank you @britishvogue and @edwardenniful for having us ????@wimbledon is one of the things I love most about living in the UK and it’s such an honour to be invited to watch in style. I’m so grateful to work with @denagia and @ralphlauren again. You always make me feel impeccable.
And there you have it. What Malala wore at … is fast becoming a “Thing”. But what’s more important to note is that her fashion choices have moved international fashion houses to cater to modest style choices on the red carpet – a world where the glitz and glamour might mean restrictive fashion options, but not when there’s a Malala in attendance. She seems to have got it right every time! Fly on Malala, the world is watching!
