1. What’s your life philosophy?
Tazeen Hussain: She laughed and refused to answer under this pressure and jokingly said: “Iss tarha kay sawal mujh say na kero!“
2. What’s one activity that’s like therapy for you?
Tazeen Hussain: “Exercise!”
3. A perfect Sunday includes…?
Tazeen Hussain: By the tone of her voice, we figured its possibly her most favorite day of the week. “Oh yeah, having all my 3 kids with me sitting at a table, having our breakfast and watching them all fight with each other” she laughed!
4. 3 things we as women should never be guilty about?
Tazeen Hussain: “3 things we women should stop and not be guilty about? Wanting to live our lives separate from our family, our kids, our husband, being ourselves, we shouldn’t feel guilty about that. We shouldn’t feel guilty if we want to only be with our kids as well. You know that pressure to be a career person, you shouldn’t feel guilty about that. If you feel that you want to just be home, being a homemaker or just being whatever, you shouldn’t feel guilty about that. And what else? These are two things.
They shouldn’t feel guilty about if they like men. Yeh bhi ek bara masla hogaya hai. Some could like that there is a man in their life who is a decision maker and who earns but then that is also an issue. Why? Phir kehtay hain ap emancipated nahi ho sakti, aap aise nahi ho sakti. I think everybody should have the right to be the way they want to be and that’s okay. Respect yourself.”
5. One lesser known thing about you?
Tazeen Hussain: “Despite the surface stuff – I want to do a PHD!” Truly an ambitious soul!

I appeared as a child artist in a production titled ‘Andhera Ujala’, an adaptation of ‘The Miracle Worker’, a three act play written by William Gibson on the childhood of Hellen Keller and produced by Theatrewalay, a group led by my father Talat Hussain and Rahat Kazmi. I don’t think I ever planned to be an actress, it just happened!”
8. Her first film?
Daghzabaaz Dil, an Eid release!
9. What is the best part about acting?
In her view: “Well you get to experience life through the different characters you play. In a way i get to live different lives at the same time, get richer through their experiences, learn from their mistakes and feel their emotions, their loss, their joy.”
10. Her words of wisdom? What she wants to say to other women who are grieving?
Tazeen Hussain: “Stop romanticising grief, we need to shed this approach and belief. Our films, afsanay and stories are like this and possibly contribute.”
