1. Why The 27th Amendment Should Concern Every Citizen

27th Amendment
Why the 27th Amendment Should Concern Every Citizen

It’s one of those sayings that has survived centuries—because it’s always true. And right now, it feels like Pakistan might be living through its most literal version of that warning. The 27th Constitutional Amendment Bill, which has now been passed by both the Senate and the National Assembly, isn’t just another political story making headlines—it’s a complete rewrite of how power works in this country.

If you’ve been wondering why lawyers, journalists, and civil society are sounding the alarm, here’s why: this amendment isn’t about small tweaks or technical legal terms—it’s about shifting the country’s balance of power entirely, placing more control than ever before in the hands of the military, weakening the courts, and shielding top officials from accountability. Let’s break it down. Here’s everything you should know about the 27th amendment, click here!

2. An End To A Storied Life: Dr. Arfa Sayeda Zehra

Dr. Arfa Sayeda Zehra: A Tribute To A Life In Language, Learning & Light
Dr. Arfa Sayeda Zehra

Dr. Zehra’s career spanned more than fifty years, during which she inhabited multiple roles: teacher, principal, professor, public intellectual, and cultural advocate. Her academic credentials speak of her depth of learning: she attained her doctorate in History from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa under the prestigious East-West Center fellowship. She specialised in intellectual history and South Asian literature, making her a rare figure capable of bridging historical insight with cultural critique.

Her work in universities and colleges across Pakistan amounted to institutional reform and mentoring a generation of scholars. Dr. Zehra began her teaching career at Lahore College for Women University and later served as Principal of women’s colleges in Lahore. She went on to join the faculty of Forman Christian College and later held the title of Professor Emerita. Through these roles, she was known for her insistence on academic rigour, her engagement in Urdu language and literature, and her belief that education is a platform for social change.

On 10 November 2025, Dr. Arfa Sayeda Zehra passed away, aged 83, in Lahore. The academic and literary community recognized an “irreparable loss” to Pakistan’s literature and education. But her legacy lives on: in the generations of students she taught, in the public conversations she shaped about language and identity, and in the institutional footprints she left. Her insistence that Urdu, knowledge, culture and integrity are not separate but intertwined remains a guiding light.

3. Here’s What Happened At Cadet College Wana

Here’s What Happened At Cadet College Wana

A coordinated militant assault on Cadet College Wana in South Waziristan on 10–11 November was successfully repelled by Pakistani security forces after an overnight clearance operation. On the evening of 10 November 2025, a group of militants launched a brazen assault on Cadet College Wana, a military-run residential institution in Wana, South Waziristan District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to statements issued by the Inter‑Services Public Relations (ISPR), the attackers first attempted to breach the outer perimeter and when that failed, rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the college’s main gate, causing it to collapse and damaging adjacent infrastructure.

Immediately following the blast, the militants entered the campus and made their way toward the administrative block. Security forces on site – comprised of Pakistan Army and paramilitary elements – responded swiftly. They engaged the attackers in a firefight, evacuated cadets and staff, and launched a clearance operation to secure the entire facility. According to the ISPR, the assailants were described as “khawarij” – a term used by Pakistani military authorities to refer to militant extremists – and were alleged to be affiliated with the banned Tehrik‑e‑Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and directed from Afghan territory.

By the morning of 12 November the authorities reported that all of the attackers inside the college had been killed and the complex had been cleared of explosive devices and booby traps. No cadets or teaching staff were reported injured. The number of students and staff evacuated from the site was estimated in various reports at around 550-650 people.

What We Know So Far: Blast Outside Islamabad Court Kills & Injures Several

A powerful explosion tore through the area outside a court building in Islamabad on Tuesday, killing multiple people and injuring dozens in one of the city’s deadliest attacks in recent months. The blast occurred outside a district court in the city’s “kachehri” area, where visitors, petitioners, and lawyers were present. Authorities reported that the explosion originated from a vehicle parked near the court premises. Court proceedings were immediately suspended, and everyone inside the building was evacuated through emergency exits.

Initial reports indicate that at least 12 people have been killed and over 20 injured. Some sources, report 11 fatalities and around 13 injured, with the toll expected to rise as hospitals continue to treat the wounded. An emergency has been declared at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) to manage the influx of casualties.

Authorities are investigating the exact nature of the blast, with preliminary reports suggesting it may have been a suicide attack, though this has not been confirmed and no group has claimed responsibility. The attack targeting a judicial institution raises serious concerns about security around government facilities and public access to legal services.

5. Viewers Share Divided Thoughts On First Two Episodes Of Meri Zindagi Hai Tu

Meri Zindagi Hai Tu First Teaser Drops - & It Has All The Bilal-Hania Magic Fans Were Waiting For!
Meri Zindagi Hai Tu

The drama opens with Bilal as Kamyar – the kind of rich, moody guy who drives flashy cars and hides his feelings behind sarcasm (you know the type). Hania plays Dr. Ayra, a grounded and kind-hearted doctor who somehow ends up tangled in his dramatic orbit. Their first few scenes together have that push-and-pull energy that’s equal parts fiery and fun. And yes, while the Cybertruck might have tried to steal the screen time, it totally stole the spotlight – because when a Cybertruck rolls into a Pakistani drama, you just know things are about to get interesting.

By the second episode, audiences were buzzing with excitement – but the big question was, did Meri Zindagi Hai Tu actually deliver on all that hype? While the visuals are undeniably sleek and the soundtrack keeps things lively, some viewers felt the story’s pacing was a bit slow, with more buildup than breakthrough so far. Still, Bilal and Hania’s chemistry seems to be the saving grace that’s keeping everyone hooked.

Audiences are watching closely, and they’re not shy about sharing their hot takes online. Check out audience’s reaction here!

6. Pakistan On Dengue Alert

Dengue
Dengue

Dengue is a viral infection spread by the Aedes aegypti mosquito — a small, striped insect that thrives in warm, humid environments and breeds in clean, stagnant water. It’s not passed from person to person but through mosquito bites, making prevention as much about our surroundings as our health.

There are four types of dengue viruses (DENV 1–4), and unfortunately, getting it once doesn’t make you immune — you can catch it again from another strain. In fact, secondary infections are more likely to turn severe.

The mosquito’s favorite time to bite? Two hours after sunrise and two hours before sunset — just when most of us are out and about. Here are some symptoms you should look out for.

8. Gen Z & The Growing Coffee Culture

5 New Coffee Spots In K-Town To Fuel Your Daily Caffeine Fix!
Gen Z & The Growing Coffee Culture

For Gen Z, coffee isn’t just about staying awake — it’s about staying sane. It’s that little ritual that fits perfectly between “I’m too tired” and “I’m trying to hold it together.” Somewhere between the cold brews, oat milk lattes, and whipped Dalgona experiments, coffee became personal. It’s not about the cup — it’s about the mood, the aesthetic, the energy it sets for the day.

While Millennials once made coffee their badge of adulthood (think third-wave cafés, pour-overs, and “what’s your roast?” conversations), Gen Z turned it into self-expression. For them, coffee isn’t an obligation; it’s an experience. It’s the cold brew they grab before class, the instant mix that powers their 3 a.m. assignments, or the creamy latte they post on their “soft life” story.
