He even goes as far as altering his physical appearance for each role, whether it’s changing his facial looks or body type. Hamza revealed that this desire for diversity and transformation is what keeps him passionate about acting, making each project a unique experience for him and his fans.

Hamza Ali Abbasi opened up about why he was drawn to the character of Batish in his upcoming drama, Faraar. He shared that Batish’s journey is highly relatable, especially for today’s youth, as it carries a significant message. Hamza emphasized that the character reflects a reality seen in many educated, well-brought-up young men who sometimes get caught up in misguided political ideologies, leading them down the wrong path. This theme connected deeply with Hamza, as he wanted to highlight the consequences of such choices and how they can lead to ruined lives.
Moreover, Hamza mentioned that Batish’s mannerisms have a distinct “desi” touch that aligns well with the cultural nuances of the younger generation. He found the character’s traits both engaging and enjoyable to portray, believing that the audience will connect with the authenticity of Batish’s persona. For Hamza, this role was not just about entertainment; it was about delivering a meaningful message that could inspire the youth to reflect on their decisions and avoid paths that could negatively impact their lives.
The Biggest Challenge While Playing Batish?

Hamza Ali Abbasi
Hamza Ali Abbasi discussed the challenge of differentiating his new character Batish in Faraar from his previous iconic role as Noori Nath. He acknowledged that there were moments when he found himself slipping into the same flavor and reflection that made Noori Nath so memorable. To counter this, Hamza made a conscious effort to steer Batish in a different direction. He actively worked on avoiding the mannerisms, vocal tone, and overall aura that defined Noori Nath.
In fact, he went as far as deliberately altering his voice to a thinner, more distinct tone to ensure Batish had his own unique identity. Hamza emphasized that while Batish carries some negative traits, he isn’t as deeply rooted in villainy as Noori Nath. Given the overwhelming response to Noori Nath’s character, Hamza was determined to avoid any overlap, striving to disconnect from his previous portrayal to bring a fresh, authentic edge to Batish. This effort to create a distinct character demonstrates Hamza’s commitment to pushing his boundaries as an actor and offering something new to his audience.
