New drama serial Hey Fam has officially started, with four episodes airing so far. Starring Duaa Zahra, Zarrar Khan, Zaviyar Nauman Ejaz and Faysal Quraishi in key roles, the drama has already introduced us to Seerat, her family, her growing social media presence and Faizan’s serious investigation, so here’s everything that has happened in the story so far.

The story starts with Seerat (played by Duaa Zahra), a girl belonging to a middle class background and having an ordinary life. The introduction of her family and surroundings makes her relationships clear while keeping her away from the fame and glamour that is about to come into her life soon. On the other hand, Ayyan (played by Zarrar Khan) is already famous in the field of social media and content creation. His discussion on the impact of creators and social media shows that the concept of heroes for young generation has changed because of social media.
The drama spends quite a bit of time establishing their everyday family dynamic, particularly the relationship between Seerat and her sisters. At the same time, the issue of rishtas and arranged marriage comes into focus. Seerat is being considered for marriage, but the drama raises the question of whether a girl and boy should actually be allowed to meet and understand each other before their families move ahead with a formal proposal.
At the same time, Faizan Mustaqeem, played by Zaviyar Nauman Ejaz, is introduced as a journalist who is working on a serious story involving a cancer medicine manufactured by R&T Pharma. Faizan discovers that the medicine has allegedly been sold despite issues surrounding its trials, but when he tries to pursue the story, his own team becomes hesitant and asks him to stop. Despite the pressure, Faizan decides to continue investigating, putting himself in a difficult position.
As the episodes progress, Ayyan’s content creator world becomes more prominent. He is seen working on campaigns and interacting with young people who are interested in becoming influencers themselves, while also defending content creation as more than simply a way to make quick money. His character gives the drama a look at how social media has become a major part of young people’s lives and ambitions.
Meanwhile, Faizan’s professional problems continue to grow. His investigation puts him under pressure, and the situation becomes serious enough for him to receive threats. Rather than backing away, Faizan makes it clear that he has chosen to take on this fight and intends to continue with his work, even though it could put his career and safety at risk.
By the fourth episode, Seerat’s life is also beginning to change as the attention around her grows. The drama starts showing how quickly a person’s ordinary life can become public, with people recognising her, recreating her content and approaching her for pictures and videos. This is where Seerat’s storyline begins moving towards the social media fame that the drama has been building up to.
With four episodes down, these separate storylines are beginning to overlap, setting the stage for Seerat’s growing presence in the digital world and the consequences that may come with it.
