What a creative & interesting idea to have a dada who is on TikTok. His chemistry with his granddaughters was just so, so endearing, winning our hearts completely. It made us miss our grandfather, what about you? Muhammad Ahmed sahib is rocking this role! Moreover, Rishta Nani’s obsession with girls who can become her clients represents our society’s obsession with shaadi & how girls are often still viewed as objects.
We’re Loving The Gender Role Reversal!
The role reversal is very, very interesting. How the girls in one house are not sughar at all but very, very intelligent, street smart, extremely confident, and excelling academically. Sadly, all this is overshadowed by the fact that they are not boys and do not have a brother, resulting in a father who is bitter & unappreciative of his daughters.
Neha driving the Vespa is definitely a liberating concept. The boys in the other house are sughar, very responsible, and slightly OCD about cleanliness and where things should be placed in the house. In the two houses, the two neighbours seem to share a love-hate relationship. They are friends but also can’t stand certain things about each other. Adam is on the hit list of all the girls in the professor’s house.
A note of appreciation for director Danish Nawaz for the original & dreamy manner in which he introduced the main characters as well as treating us to some very interesting shots during the episode. He captivated us in the very first few minutes.
