Sunday morning, the sun’s out and Twitter is buzzing with the latest news: The Crown (popular historical show based on the Royal Family) has a new member, and this time around, the addition is one of Pakistan’s very own. Please put your hands together for the ever young and evergreen, Humayun Saeed, who is all set to play Dr. Hasnat Khan, a man of high importance in Lady Diana’s life.
Why We’re Excited

The hype is real! Humayun, who has been in the industry for over 24 years and is one of the best Pakistan’s got, just landed a role which is not only historical but he himself made history too. He is now the first Pakistani to be cast in a Netflix original. No doubt he’s making Pakistan proud and taking us to a global platform too.

Humayun Saeed has been the lead in many hit dramas. From Mere Pass Tum Ho, Dil Lagi, Bin Roye to films; Jawani Phir Nahi Aani, Punjab Nahi Jaungi, the list goes on and on.
Other than that, Humayun is also one of the names behind the production house Six Sigma Plus and their latest project Sinf E Aahan, a hit among the masses. So, need any more reasons as to why we’re ecstatic? We think not

On A Serious Note
As the rumors initially had it, apparently Fawad Khan and Humayun were up for this role but later, HS was confirmed, however netizens and trolls went on to judge who would have been a better fit for the role.
This leads us to our next question: ‘Why can’t we live and let live?’ Both actors have made a pivotal mark for Pakistan; with Fawad being cast in Ms. Marvel and Humayun in ‘The Crown,’ so isn’t that a proud moment for our entertainment industry? So let’s drop the negativity, as fans, we should be supporting and rooting for both.
Anyways, back to where we started. Further details are yet to come but until then, we wish Humayun and the team of the Netflix original the very best for the next Crown season. Cheers!
