How Was It Working In Parwarish? Arshad Mehmood Tells Us!
The biggest joy of Parwarish for me is that it is directed by one of my students from NAPA.
Arshad Mehmood
Talking about his experience in Parwarish, Arshad Mehmood shared that the project holds a special place in his heart for a very personal reason—it’s directed by one of his former students from NAPA (Meesam Naqvi). That connection makes the experience all the more meaningful for him. He explained that he completely trusts the director and follows his lead, calling himself a “director’s actor,” always ready to deliver once the director gives the go-ahead.
Interestingly, the writer (Kiran Siddiqui) of Parwarish is also one of Arshad Mehmood’s students, which adds another layer of joy to the project. He shared that, as an actor, he feels it’s his duty to deliver the written lines with meaning and sincerity. What makes the experience even more special is working alongside Shamim Hilaly, who was his college mate—though a bit senior. Their shared past brings a sense of comfort and fun to the set. Surrounded by a young and energetic cast, Arshad Mehmood seems to be thoroughly enjoying his time on Parwarish.
Arshad Mehmood Shared His Experience Working In Meem Se Mohabbat
I enjoyed it a lot.
Arshad Mehmood
Arshad Mehmood truly enjoyed working on Meem Se Mohabbat, describing the team as supportive and the environment as smooth and professional. He had a great working relationship with the director, Ali Hassan, who impressed him with his clear vision from day one. In fact, Arshad felt that the way he performed his role was shaped by the director’s strong guidance, which made the whole process even more fulfilling for him.
As for how he returned to acting with this drama, it happened quite naturally. The MD Productions team had approached him multiple times in the past, even while he was teaching at NAPA. It wasn’t until after he resigned from NAPA in 2021 that things finally aligned. When they found out he was no longer with NAPA in 2024, they offered him the role, believing he would be perfect for it—and he gladly accepted.
Being Raised By A Single Mother – Arshad Mehmood Reflects
My mother was not educated but she had a lot of wisdom.
Arshad Mehmood
Arshad Mehmood shared that he lost his father at a very young age and was raised by his mother, who, despite not being formally educated, had immense wisdom and strength. She took care of him and the extended family with grace. Her strong presence in his life meant that he never felt the absence of a father figure in a traditional sense.
Over the years, different people came into his life who played important roles in shaping his thoughts and personality. From a favorite uncle during his early college years to mentors like Shoaib Hashmi and Syed Mansoor Bukhari, these individuals offered silent guidance simply through their presence. He felt he learned a lot just by listening and being around them. His exposure to great minds and poets like Munir Niazi, Ahmed Faraz, and Habib Jalib further shaped his interest in poetry and literature. Despite all this, it was his mother’s steady support and open-minded parenting that laid the foundation for the person he became.
