Working With An Ensemble Cast
Humayun Saeed shared that working alongside such a talented cast was an absolute joy. From Sajal Aly, Sanam Saeed, and Azaan Sami Khan to veterans like Saima Noor, Babar Ali, and Saba Faisal, everyone brought their own strength to the project. He mentioned how polite and soft-spoken Saima Noor is, how wholeheartedly Azaan performed, and how even the actors in smaller roles left a lasting presence on screen. He emphasized that when the script is strong and the team dedicated, the experience naturally becomes more enjoyable.
Speaking about his co-stars, he said this was his first time working with Sajal and Sanam, and he truly enjoyed their natural style of acting. He found Sajal’s infectious laugh surprising yet charming, while Sanam impressed him with her professionalism.
Five Life Lessons From Humayun Saeed
When asked what he would like to share with the new generation, Humayun Saeed spoke about values and habits that have guided him throughout his journey. Drawing from his own experiences, he emphasized discipline, respect, and commitment as essentials for anyone who wants to succeed in life and in their career.
1. Respect your elders – No matter what you achieve, never forget the importance of giving respect to those before you.
2. There are no shortcuts – In work and in life, stay strong and committed. Be willing to do everything and never shy away from hard work.
3. Value time – Punctuality is key. Arriving on time determines how far you’ll go, and being careless with time can cost you opportunities.
4. Control your anger – Never make decisions in anger. Step back, let time pass, and take decisions calmly the next day.
5. Finish what you start – Whatever project you take on, complete it with focus. Don’t get distracted by other things—see it through till the end.
Mental Health In The Digital Age
Humayun Saeed reflected on how social media has drastically changed the landscape for actors. In his early years, the industry wasn’t under the same constant spotlight, but today, every post, every comment, even the number of likes or birthday wishes, has become a source of pressure. He pointed out how actors now feel the need to share every detail of their lives – even when they’re unwell – simply to remain visible. According to him, this constant validation-seeking is taking a toll on mental peace, unlike in the past when actors weren’t judged so instantly or openly.
His Advice For Young Actors
For new actors navigating this world, Humayun’s advice is simple: don’t take social media too seriously, and above all, don’t take it to heart. He stressed the importance of focusing on the craft rather than numbers or online validation. As a producer, he acknowledged that channels often value cast appeal, but he believes no drama succeeds purely because of one actor’s name. In the end, it’s always the story that wins, and if the content is strong, audiences will connect regardless of followers or social media presence.
