Areeka Haq, whom most of us know as an Instagram influencer and who is also starring as Daneen in Kafeel, joined FUCHSIA for an insightful conversation!

This article is an excerpt from the YouTube interview.
Is Being an Influencer Safe for Girls?
Areeka Haq highlighted that safety concerns affect women regardless of their profession, including influencers. She emphasized that women encounter harassment in daily life, whether online or in public spaces, and that no one can completely eliminate such risks. While precautions can reduce danger, these experiences remain a reality for many women. She explained that women often have a heightened sense of awareness, allowing them to sense when someone is observing or following them. By trusting these instincts, women can make decisions to avoid potentially dangerous situations.
Family support, according to Areeka, is crucial in enabling women to act confidently and fearlessly. A supportive family gives women the courage to respond appropriately to harassment, knowing they have backup if something goes wrong. Without this support, fear and hesitation may prevent women from taking action. Areeka observed that modern girls are increasingly confident and independent. They are more willing to share experiences with their families and take control of their lives, balancing caution with bravery. She emphasized that support systems and self-assurance are key factors in navigating safety challenges effectively.

Areeka Haq on Red Flags in Men and How to Actually Impress a Girl
Areeka Haq believes disrespect is one of the biggest red flags in men, and she explains that disrespect is not always loud or obvious. It can show up in small actions, such as joking about a girl’s insecurities in front of others, using harsh words during disagreements, raising one’s voice, or handling conflicts with anger instead of maturity. She notes that differences in opinions are normal, but the real test of character is how a man behaves during those moments.
Another major red flag she points out is disloyalty, calling it a basic but serious issue in relationships. Manipulation is also highlighted as a concern. She observes that many girls recognize manipulative behavior but stay quiet, often because they are giving the person time or hoping things will change. She mentions that girls sometimes carry a “savior” mindset, believing they can fix someone into the partner they want, even though this effort often fails. According to her, once a girl is truly done, there is usually no turning back.
Consistency is another key point. She considers ghosting rude and emotionally hurtful, describing it as a form of emotional disregard. Taking excessively long to reply on purpose is seen as inconsiderate, as it leaves the other person waiting and overthinking. She believes clear communication and basic courtesy go a long way in building respect and interest.
