Jaan-e-Jahaan, A typical story of “Sazish”, sibling rivalry among stepbrothers, a toxic and conniving step mom and a naive, too good to be true step son, completely under the spell of his step mother. But what sets the drama apart is the execution, great performances, production quality and Ayeza-Hamza’s onscreen presence as leads.

The much-awaited drama serial by Next Level Entertainment and Six Sigma Productions finally went on air last week. The first four episodes were fast-paced and established the storyline and direction for the drama in the coming weeks clearly.

Mahnoor As Ayeza Is Not Your Typical Heroine

Mahnoor, played by Ayeza Khan, is not your typical heroine. She is brave and bold yet not badtameez and keeps striving to go on about life despite all challenges to do what is right. What is interesting is unlike many dramas, in Jaan-e-Jahan, it is the female lead who seems to be the savior of our hero “Shehraam”, played by Hamza Ali Abbasi, who is completely lost after the death of his father and is being drugged by his stepmother, played by Sawera Nadeem. Looks like it just might be Mahnoor’s interest in his school that might bring him back to life.

The Director’s Attention To Details

A big shout out to the Director Qasim Ali Mureed for making the screen of JJ visually aesthetic and giving it a very grand yet poetic and romantic feel in cinematography. The attention to detail in each scene makes the visual experience very rich and gives you the feeling of wholesomeness. For example in the first few scenes where Tabrez, the stepbrother played by Harris Waheed is introduced, is shooting a bird, the scenes show each step and detail visually, including the bird which makes it very interesting to watch.

It has only been 4 episodes but we have seen a thappar, a death, a baraat returning and a failed kidnapping attempt. We hope the drama will keep up this pace and keep us engaged.

Shehraam’s bond with his father, though shown only in the first two scenes was beautifully established. Unlike many such scenes, these scenes were not boring, they were endearing and we felt Shehraam’s pain following losing his father.

Mahnoor Saves Shehraam

We get the much-awaited, shawl burning scene where Mahnoor saves Shehraam at a Mazaar. But sadly Shehraam doesn’t even register her at that moment properly and runs away, just when we thought something might start between the two here.

Kishwar’s conspiracy game to drug Shehraam, and get him to transfer everything in her name is going very well as she had hidden her ill intentions with a loving mother’s mask whom Shehraam believes completely.

Performances, Fast Pace & A Well-Directed Script

A strong female lead whose defiance is endearing, a charming hero who we all want to save, great performances by the entire cast, a fast pace and a well-directed script save the drama from being wasted because of its typical storyline so far.

In this eagerly anticipated venture, penned by the talented Rida Bilal and brought to life under the direction of Qasim Ali Mureed, produced by Next Level Entertainment. The cast, features Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ayeza Khan, Asif Raza Mir, Savera Nadeem, Haris Waheed, Raza Talish and others.
