“Masla yeh hai mein chah kay bhi kuch nahin ker sakta, 4-5 ghantay kay liyay… Flight mein hoon. Karachi a raha hoon”. This dialogue from Fazal Baksh had us laughing out loud. Even though Shibra is in real trouble, we know Shahmeer aka Fazal Baksh will save her.

A Well Paced Episode

Finally an episode of IM one could enjoy without any irresponsible content.
Last night’s episode was well-paced, didn’t bore you but kept you curious and engaged in the story in regards to what will Shahmeer do once he finds out about Shibra being in jail.

We are loving the connection Shahmeer/Fazal Baksh shares with Sukaina. The way he answers her call ‘suki” is a heartwinner and oh so cute.

Shahmeer, The Smooth Operator

Shahmeer/Fazal Baksh’s conversation with the police officer was very interesting. It was just the right combination of conciliation, threat, warning, and yet he never actually openly and aggressively threatened him. Well, we are not surprised, that is how Shahmeer smoothly executes all his plans.

Is Shibra Paying The Price Of Her Father’s Past?

What is the story between Suleiman Sahib and Dawood? Is it really nothing more than just an ego and personality clash, a difference in point of view as it seemed from Dawood’s conversation with his wife or is there more to it and we will soon find out? Because the situation for Shibra became worse the moment Dawood found out she is Suleiman Sahib’s daughter.

Why don’t homes in Pakistani dramas keep their doors locked anymore? Anyone can just barge in at any time…Can we please pay more attention to this one detail?

Should Shibra have slapped the police officer?

Where the drama is getting many things right, like the police officer’s behavior and harassing attitude, Shibra’s character comes across as too self-righteous and her fight for what is right and what is wrong seems too forced. As a viewer one fails to connect with Shibra as someone principled and caring, who would raise her voice for what is right. Instead, Shibra comes across as someone trying to establish her rights by just screaming and misbehaving.
Maybe someone needed to tell her it is not a 70’s Bollywood movie with dialogues like

“Tumahri aukaat meray saamney, Dawood Ali Khan kay paltoo janwaron ki terah hai”.
“Kuttaa… suna nahin… likho, likho naa…”

Or maybe the writer mistook the drama for a low-budget Hollywood movie with this one…
“Show me my arrest warrant NOW”.

Is Shibra Really Going To Enter The Civil Service?

As someone about to enter the civil service, Shibra should be aware of handling the situation much better.
Oh, how we wish our dramas would stop portraying independence and strength in women in such compromised and weak ways.

If only Shibra’s character was better sketched, the poetry by Habib Jalib, in Noor -ul-Hassan’s voice could have been so much more impactful and relevant.
Right now the reason we are interested in the jail sequence is to find out how Shahmeer will bring her out, not because she raised her voice for the right cause.

Incoming Romance

Fazal Baksh’s concern and care for Shibra in the jail won the audience’s hearts. The way he says “Ay tum theek ho na”… was so endearing. The scene between Fazal Baksh and Shibra gave audiences the romance they had been looking forward to, with the drama bringing in the dream sequence of the two sitting on the rooftop very aptly.

The drama is skillfully written by Abdul Khaliq Khan and directed by Farooq Rind. It is produced by Moomal Productions & MD Productions. The cast includes Bilal Abbas Khan, Dur e Fishan Saleem, Salma Hassan, Noor ul hassan, Omair Rana, Srha Asghar and others.
