As we near the final episode of Jhok Sarkar, let’s take a look back at the nine standout moments that defined this drama!

Jhok Sarkar is directed by Saife Hassan and written by Hashim Nadeem. The drama on HUM TV stars Farhan Saeed, Asif Raza Mir, Hiba Bukhari, Maham Shahid, Faiza Gilani, Usman Javed, Saqib Sumeer and Sakina Samo, Usman Javed, Malik Raza, Saad Azhar, Hasan Niazi, among others. The drama set in the village of Jhok Siyal is no doubt, upping the game in Pakistani drama genres and also serving a dual purpose. You ask what? The story is not only elevating the direction game, execution and all, but also claiming its space in the otherwise neglected or rather untouched genre of crime thriller in the Pakistani drama space. It’s clearly setting the standards in the niche genre, and with style!
Jhok Sarkar has cleverly crafted this cocktail of thrill, mystery, action and crime along with a sprinkling of sweet romance! The story has had a charming and righteous, brave hero whose screen presence has been truly gripping. The unfolding of the narrative has been authentically captivating, marked by a nuanced ebb and flow that crafted a hero whose journey felt grounded and authentic.
Skilful Direction, Writing & Portrayal – Never A Dull Moment!
The skilful direction, portrayal, and writing of the narrative took the audience on a captivating journey of diverse emotions. The storyline presented a compelling tug-of-war between the forces of good and evil, showcasing a dynamic balance. Whether the villains seized the spotlight or the hero took center stage, the narrative was consistently engaging. Both the hero and villains brought depth and intrigue to the storyline, ensuring that the audience remained thoroughly invested throughout.
At one point, Asp Arsalan appeared to come out triumphant as he walked Mukhtar into jail, but then, at another, Meeral took the lead when he out-manoeuvred ASP at his own game. then Peeral exhausted all witnesses in the battle for survival and all this, interlaced in between by Sassi and ASP’s love story, steadily and sweetly, unfolding in the background.
Farhan Saeed Stood Out As Hero
The standout performer and hero of the show, Farhan Saeed – not just an accomplished singer but undeniably an outstanding actor. He has effortlessly won the hearts of all ASP Arsalan enthusiasts! If the crisp white shirts didn’t up the style quotient enough, he went on to portray a character that is not only relatable, morally upright, and just but also remarkably sharp. Even when in love, he knows how to safeguard the dignity of his heroine.
The manner in which he broke off with Lubna and continued to behave civilly towards her was a great message for young people to hold on to. His demeanour with Sassi was equally charm x cute romance. We certainly got our love story with these two sharing the screen!
His impactful messages, unmatched style, and charm set him apart. The manner in which his character uplifted the morale of the entire police force, earning them immense respect, underscores the crucial role of heroism in a crime thriller. ASP Arsalan provided the main character with traits that authentically justify his actions, and elicit respect and admiration, essentially maintaining a lasting impact in the genre.
A Light Yet High Impact Romance
While some may argue that the romance lacked in the story, we think the manner in which ASP Arsalan sincerely cares for, and protects Sassi is truly heart-warming. While some may argue that the romance factor was subdued, it’s undeniable that the on-screen pairing was exceptionally well-executed. Each time Hiba Bukhari and Farhan Saeed shared a scene, the cinematography enhanced the impact, creating a visually captivating experience for the audience. The chemistry between the characters was skilfully captured, adding depth and substance to the narrative.
The Villains Are Just As Convincing
The cunning villains/antagonists are equally convincing in their roles. While Meeral performed superbly by Usman Javed, embodies madness, evilness, ruthlessness, and wildness, Peeral played by Asif Raza Mir so remarkably, possesses a sharp intellect, sophistication, and a restrained demeanor, orchestrating devious schemes from the shadows. The two villains, distinct in their characteristics, offer 2 contrasting flavors of evil.
Usman Javed As Meeral
Usman Javed, in the role of Meeral, embodied a character that we now find impossible to envision portrayed by anyone else. His depiction of evil madness was so seamlessly natural and there wasn’t a moment the actor parted from the character. Every scene featuring him leaves a lasting impact, even when sharing the screen with the star himself, Farhan Saeed. His on-screen presence undeniably shines, captivating audiences who have thoroughly relished his performance.
Malik Raza As Jehan Daad
Even with Jehan Daad, the grey character who was undeniably corrupt and on the wrong side of the law, despite his flaws, we find ourselves hoping for his redemption, recognizing him as a mere pawn in a larger scheme. Credit is due to Malik Raza who portrays him superbly, infusing a quirky, comedic element. Jehan Daad continues to captivate us with his antics and proves to be an intriguing character in Jhok Sarkar. Special acknowledgment to Malik Raza for delivering a splendid performance as Jehan Daad!
How The Drama Shed Light On Bigger Issues
At this point, we are losing count of the many boxes this drama ticks! The drama shed light on the frequent lack of equal opportunities for minorities. However, when given the chance, these individuals prove to be dedicated assets to the police force. ASP Arsalan’s emphasis on hiring the best people from Jhok Sarkar for the local police force highlights the importance of recruiting individuals from the very community where the police station is situated. ASP Arsalan uplifted his police officers, whether it was Kundan Masih, the Hindu Policeman who had lost hope of ever joining the force or a police officer who felt he could not survive without taking bribes to meet his domestic household bills.
Leveraging The Vast Landscapes
The director and production has made a point of capturing the vast landscapes rather grandly. They have strategically leveraged the locations, resulting in visually striking scenes that leave a lasting impact. Whether it’s the poignant meetings between Sassi and ASP Arsalan in the obscurity of the night or the powerful image of Sassi wielding a rifle for self-defense, every scene, including the dynamic train action sequence, is artfully shot.
Doing Justice To The Female Leads In A Male-Centric Drama
Whether its Noori’s resilience, sharpness, resourcefulness or her resounding strength or Sassi as a character brimming with strength and intelligence, her intuition a guiding force. Sassi possessing the ability to protect herself effectively, rather than succumbing to adversity or resorting to self-harm – the creators have depicted her as an absolute empowering female character.
Both Sassi & Noori seem to be equally significant in the storyline, in the fight against Meeral and Peeral, the wrongs in society and are determined to become a part in fixing it all. Sassi and Noori are both strong female characters, part of the thriller narrative as much as the policemen or Meeral and Peeral for that matter. It’s commendable how in such a forcefully male driven narrative, these 2 female leads stand out with their strength, substance and how empowered they are. Sure, they might not be empowered in the traditional sense but they are empowered in their approach to life and in how they are helping the cause.
Furthermore, every police officer in the ensemble cast distinguished themselves. Each character played a substantial role, contributing unique stories that enriched the narrative. Their performances, individual parts, and contributions to the action, crime, and mystery elements elevated the overall engagement of the series.
As we approach the eagerly awaited final episode of Jhok Sarkar, the anticipation is tinged with a bittersweet feeling. We look forward to witnessing ASP Arsalan once again shine brightly in the concluding moments of the series.
