Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum not only takes us through a heartfelt relationship, but also keeps the parenting red flags in focus. Mustafa’s sudden desperation to make money, and more money might be as much of a red flag as Adeel’s toxicity. Unfortunately, recent life events have driven him to the edge, and no matter what Sharjeena says, she can’t seem to undo the damage done by the words, behavior and interactions of those (especially his loved ones) around him.

The magic of Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum is how beautifully it maps a song onto a scene…Tum Naraz Ho…Meray Kitnay Paas Ho…Nazuk Nazuk Si, Pyari Pyari Si, Meray Jeenay Ki Aas Ho
Parents Instinct To Protect Their Children
Sharjeena’s father is about to do it again; undermine Mustafa’s self-respect. One really wishes that he would be appreciative of Mustafa trying to build his own life and not accept his money. Also, a little respect for Mustafa while talking about him, would be appreciated. Especially since his daughter keeps reassuring him that she’s happy with him. But we guess it is, after all, a parent’s instinct to protect their children, especially a father towards his daughter. Thank God for the mother, who puts some sense into Sharjeena’s father. He must let Mustafa and Sharjeena try to build their life on their own.

The Love in The Mustafa-Sharjeena Formula
Dil mein “kuch kuch hota hai” whenever Sharjeena Mustafa pe “apna haq jataati hai” and we all go “awwww…”. If you really think about it, Sharjeena is giving new meaning to how one should interact in a relationship. Instead of turning toxic or angry, she tells him what she wants and that is just so full of love; from telling him to not ask her to leave, to saying she wants to talk to him while putting her head on his hand…
Watching Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum is easy because the conflict between Sharjeena and Mustafa is never stretched. They argue, fight, but then they become fine with each other soon after, resolving their differences in a healthy manner. We love the nursery scene and the conversation about the plants. Also, absolutely loved the background score switch in the drama. Instead of lyrics now, we only get to hear the music during the softer-feel scenes. Which makes you want to hum the tune. A big shout out to the producers for paying attention to such minute yet impactful details.
Gaming Details
Love, love the way Mustafa’s passion for creating the game is shown. The way he discusses the minutest yet important details – he is concerned about the action sequence, and that the aliens in his game can become more powerful – the drama takes attention to detail and relatability to another level, setting new standards in the industry.
Red Flag Alert?
Mustafa getting angry at Sharjeena after her parents had left – was it a red flag? He was so rude to her and vented his own frustration at her. Yes, there was anger at being made to feel “not good enough” and also the realization of not being able to give her a better, more comfortable life, but it was not her fault. Or was his conversation on amassing tons of money the real red flag? Is it an indication of troubling times ahead? Will Sharjeena be able to stop this desire in Mustafa to make money that is completely consuming him, and which might make him lose his perspective eventually?
Sharjeena’s multiple reminders about her being happy even now in this condition with him, seem to have no impact on him. Sadly, life events have taught him that respect is only earned with money and now no matter what, Mustafa’s perception might not change. But will this alter their relationship? Positives: Good to know Mustafa’s father didn’t really believe Mustafa had stolen the money. We wish Sidra had told this to Mustafa or at least to Sharjeena?
Adeel’s Complexes
Adeel’s over confidence is going to be his downfall. Rubab’s father will soon uncover some proof to catch him red handed. Also, he and Natasha can also get caught easily at some point.
While Mustafa has another set of issues and complexes, Adeel’s toxicity is also multidimensional and has many underlying causes. Adeel is so used to being appreciated, that his ego cannot take anyone being better than him. It is always about him, so now he cannot digest Rabab’s arrogance. He thought Sharjeena will break after her marriage to Mustafa, but she is now happily living with his “loser” brother which again, hurts his ego … how can Mustafa to whom he never considered worthy of attention, is now being given more attention than him? He has no limits, as we saw with all the lies about Mustafa he concocted when talking to his mother.
