Kabli Pulao – Though a heartwarming and very emotional act on Haji Sahib’s part to leave his family just so Ghaffar can take Chamo back, but it also makes us question, should he have not put a stop to it now? Was Shamim really going to give up her life?
Chamo’s Selfishness & Emotional Blackmailing?
Well, that was a surprise, to see Haji Sahib take the decision to leave his home for Chamo. His life and his decisions have always been all about his family. That he can go to extremes to save his sister’s home was definitely not something we were expecting, especially knowing the fact that Ghaffar will never change. He will find another excuse to torture Chamo and family and to exercise his power.
Should the family now finally take a stand and no more put up with Gaffer’s bullying? Are they scared that Chamo might take some desperate action or are they concerned about how she will blame them for her misfortune? But in any case, Chamo seems to solely focus on herself and her situation and blames everything on others. So no matter what, she will never be happy.
Shamim’s Letter
Did Barbeena really take the engagement “jora” that Shamim is so desperate to get? Looks like if she had not heard about Haji Mushtaq leaving, she was about to give up her life, as she had written in that letter. Ayesha calls out Shamim about why she wasted her life when everyone knew that Haji Mushtaq will not marry anyone. Shamim’s conversations are always so deep and make one think. She is probably the epitome of selfless love, representing many women caught in a one sided love who spend their lives in “umeed” not intezaar as she says.
Respect, Companionship Or Love?
While we wait to see the developments in Haji Mushtaq and Barbeena’s relationship, it seems they have now reached a point of mutual respect, care and companionship. Which makes us question; is Kabli Pulao just a story or will it actually show a true couple relationship between the two to change audiences’ mindsets. As Haji Mushtaq desperately seeks Barbeena, his panic also reveals how he didn’t want to lose her – A step forward in his regard for her? Does he really love her or does he merely feel responsible and protective towards her?
Will Haji Mushtaq Be Forced To Return?
The young maulvi Ghulam Sarwar peeping through the gaps in the wall was really creepy. But unfortunately, even the young guy at the guest house seems to have been taken aback with Barbeena’s looks. Maybe all these unfortunate events and Barbeena’s safety will be the reason for Haji Mushtaq’s return.
Kabli Pulao must be appreciated for keeping the suspense throughout the entire scene of Barbeena escaping Ghulam Sarwar. We kept wondering as to what happened, and why she vanished so suddenly?
