The saga of Mannat and Murad comes to an end finally, leaving us with a bitter-sweet feeling. Should the drama have also shown some evident change in Murad’s character? Why did it have to be Mannat making most of the changes? However, we are still relieved to get a happy ending.

Mannat Murad: The Final Episode And Our Thoughts!

The Final Episode Syndrome

Well, the drama sadly fell prey to the typical Pakistani drama ending syndrome, wrapping up everything too quickly in the end.

Mannat Murad must be credited for starting many conversation, raising crucial points and highlighting the pressures a man faces in a joint family system. It is not always a woman who faces challenges in a joint family, men also have their own set of troubles.

Lacking A Wholesome Changeover?

The drama could have been so much better and satisfying for audiences if Murad’s character was shown changing over a few episodes. Right now, it was only in the final episode that we saw him standing up for Mannat. Even afterwards it seemed he was the same, and it was actually Mannat who seemed to have started becoming more understanding towards him and his family. Mannat accepted Murad, gave more importance to his mother, while he requested her to understand her and his sisters. Well, what is Murad doing other than just carrying her bag and dupatta?

What additionally should have been shown was Mannat going back to work, and Murad supporting her. We have no idea if she rejoined work or not.

This would have balanced what the drama showed currently which is more of a one-sided change in Mannat alone.

Some Unexplained Events

It is also a mystery how Baray Bhaiya ended up marrying Fazeelat. We understand that the drama wanted to keep it a total surprise but maybe a little detail behind the scenes would have been more interesting than the surprise factor.

Most importantly, the drama dealt with the “ thappar” as a no big deal, when it is something really significant and can be a deal breaker. Some conversation about how a couple can move on from such an event could have been so much more impactful and would have made Mannat Murad a real game changer.

Positive Takeaways

Appreciating the drama showing that Faysal’s boss backed out gracefully and wished him well. Faysal and Itrat got their happily ever after and also sent out a very important message about keeping egos aside in a relationship.

Athar, Azra Bhabi, Niggi and Hammad were the voice of reason throughout and we appreciate the drama showing positive and constructive characters.

Was it Murad’s strong reaction or the news of pregnancy which made everyone back off in Murad’s family? Maybe the strong reaction was because of the fact that despite everything, Murad kept meeting Mannat which showed his family that try as they did, they could not keep them apart and perhaps risked losing Murad as well.

Razia Sultana finally realises the mistakes she has been making, even if she doesn’t accept them verbally. The fact that when you have daughters yourself, how can you mistreat another’s daughter was driven home? This lack of ahsaas was also evident in Murad’s selfish approach towards his cousin, where he let her believe he will marry her. Some dialogues from the characters highlighting these issues could have helped drive change and set examples as well.

Over all, the final episode gave us three happy endings but also left us a little disappointed about certain concepts which should have been handled better.

The drama is written by Nadia Akhtar, comes to life under the skillful direction of Syed Wajahat Hussain. Produced by Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi’s 7th Sky Entertainment. The stellar cast, features Iqra Aziz, Talha Chahour, Irsa Ghazal, Noor ul Hassan, Uzma Hassan, Ali Rehman, Tipu Sharif, Faiza Gillani , Mizna Waqast, Ali Safina and others.
