A tragic incident has shaken the Old City area of Karachi after a six-year-old boy, who went missing two days prior, was found s*****ly assaulted and murdered, police confirmed on Wednesday.

The victim, identified as Muhammad Wali, son of Abid Ali, had disappeared on Monday while playing outside his home. Following a frantic and unsuccessful search by family members and local residents, a kidnapping case was formally registered at the Napier police station.
According to police officials, the child’s body was recovered late Tuesday night, stuffed inside a sack near Old Haji Camp in the Lea Market area.
Neighbor Detained and Confesses
Growing suspicious of a neighbor identified as Hamza, the victim’s family detained the man themselves before handing him over to the authorities. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) District South, Asad Raza, confirmed the suspect’s arrest, stating that he has since confessed to the heinous crime.
During interrogation, investigators revealed that the suspect admitted to sexually assaulting the young boy before killing him. He further disclosed to police that he harbored a personal grudge against the child’s father, who works as a rickshaw driver.
The family members of the victim have reported that the crime had taken place at the residence of the suspect. They have further informed that the boy’s body was mutilated and was put inside a gunny sack and disposed of from the third floor of a building.
Relatives also accused Hamza of actively obstructing their initial search efforts. “He refused to let us check his house when we were looking for the child,” a relative stated, noting that the suspect had even pretended to help the family look for Wali to deflect suspicion from himself.
Family Demands Immediate Justice
The tragic loss has left the family devastated. Muhammad Wali was the only brother to five sisters. His father noted that the family had no known enmities with anyone in the neighborhood.
Speaking out after the discovery, the victim’s grieving mother demanded the strictest possible legal punishment for the accused. “We want justice,” she pleaded. “The killer should be punished the exact same way he treated my son.”
An investigation remains underway as police finalize legal formalities and compile evidence to present against the suspect in court.
