Mitti De Baway: Where psychology, the class system, and love collide at their worst.

The psychology of feeling entitled:
Human nature, irrespective of gender, dictates that when you push someone to their limit, you compel them to do something they could never have imagined. This is evident in how Billo looked down upon Baala and his family’s occupation as singers and entertainers, frequently disparaging them.
The pain and ruthlessness of one-sided love:
When you take advantage of someone’s love, as Billo did with Baala’s feelings and his devotion to his son, you transform their love and pain into ruthlessness.
Fear can also bring out the worst in you:
Billo’s fear—perhaps that Baala would expose her, or that she was uncomfortable around him, especially with his brother marrying into her in-laws—suggests she knew she might be unable to control her impulses and could end up doing something she would later regret.
Last but not least, the depiction of that era through Shezan bottles, weddings, period outfits, and makeup evokes a sense of nostalgia.
