Junaid Khan and Momina Iqbal are once again returning to our television screens together in the newly announced drama serial, Muhafiz. We watched the first teaser, and here’s what we think the story might be all about!

Muhafiz is presented by 7th Sky Entertainment and GEO, and is produced by the renowned duo Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi. Over the years, they have consistently brought stories to life that offer audiences a perfect blend of entertainment, meaningful storytelling, and that classic PTV drama charm, all while staying true to the essence of a Pakistani drama serial. The drama is written by Sadia Akhtar and directed by Syed Ramish Rizvi. The cast includes Junaid Khan, Momina Iqbal, Sohail Sameer, Yousuf Bashir Qureshi (YBQ), Dodi Khan, Shamyl Khan, and more.
Breaking Down The First Teaser
The first teaser introduces us to two completely contrasting lead characters. Junaid Khan plays Zawar Bakht, a passionate, principled, and uncompromising police officer. He is deeply committed to his profession and carries out every task with complete dedication. Zawar is neither influenced by wealth, status, nor power, but instead inspires those around him through his commitment and dedication to his responsibilities.
On the other hand, we have Paras Behzaad, played by Momina Iqbal. Unlike the typical damsel-in-distress heroine, Paras appears confident, sharp, and highly independent. She carries an air of arrogance, isn’t particularly soft-spoken, and seems to be someone who likes to stay in control. Calculative and manipulative when necessary, she looks like a character who won’t easily let anyone dictate her life.
Sohail Sameer plays Behzaad Shah, Paras’ father, who appears to be an influential figure in the story. From what we saw in the teaser, he seems to be dealing with constant threats and security concerns. To ensure his daughter’s safety, he hires Zawar as her personal guard, assigning him the responsibility of protecting her from any potential danger. However, Paras is far from pleased with this arrangement. She feels controlled, constantly watched, and followed wherever she goes. For someone who likes to be in charge of her own life, having a guard around her at all times is clearly not something she’s willing to accept.
What Stands Out In Muhafiz’s First Teaser
As always, the production quality of the teaser is top-notch. From the background score to the editing, camera work, color grading, and overall presentation, everything looks polished and visually appealing. The teaser successfully creates intrigue without revealing too much of the story.
What makes the teaser even more interesting is that it avoids the obvious route. We don’t get any instant hints of romance between Zawar and Paras, which is actually a refreshing change. Had the teaser focused heavily on a love story right away, it would have felt somewhat predictable. Instead, the conflict between their personalities takes center stage, making the narrative feel more engaging.
Zawar is someone who refuses to back down from his duty, while Paras clearly isn’t comfortable having him around. This clash of personalities is likely to be one of the most absorbing aspects of the drama. The story itself seems promising, and both actors appear to fit their respective characters very well. But the real question is: will Paras eventually learn to trust Zawar, or will she try everything possible to get rid of him? And are the threats surrounding her as straightforward as they seem, or is there something much bigger at play?
To get answers to all these questions, we’ll have to wait for the drama to officially premiere. The release date has not been announced yet, but the first teaser has certainly managed to grab our attention.
