Zanjeerain latest episode delivered a banger yet again and fans did not, could not, walk away without reliving the intense and intriguing events that played out under 50 minutes onscreen. Scroll down to catch the fan reaction, but first, our thoughts!

Last night, Pakistani drama viewers witnessed storytelling at its absolute finest.
Audiences experienced every high and low alongside Rabeeya and Sir Buland. When he finally found Rabeeya in the water tank, we all breathed a collective sigh of relief. When Rabeeya wept, we wept with her. And when Sir Buland struggled with how to tell her that Mudassir was gone, the audience felt that same crushing weight, wondering how anyone could break such a harsh truth to her. Stories like Zanjeerain give us a sense of pride, ownership, and hope that all is not lost in the world of Pakistani television.
The episode kept us on the edge of our seats. Throughout the hour, a looming dread persisted that something terrible would happen at any minute—that Torsam would somehow manage to take Rabeeya away.
Immense Applause
The drama deserves immense applause, particularly for its writing and direction, for crafting Torsam into a villain who poses a constant, haunting threat both in the narrative and in the viewers’ minds. He feels unpredictable and truly terrifying. At the same time, the drama delivers a brilliant sense of thrill as Sir Buland fakes Rabeeya’s identity, destroys their phones, and transfers the data to his laptop. These meticulous details elevate the script, adding a layer of depth and finesse to the overall storytelling.
Dropping the Clichéd Storytelling
Rabeeya’s tragic loss, disorientation, and sheer confusion were brilliantly portrayed by the one and only Sajal Aly. Honestly, who could do it better?
The drama thankfully avoids the cliché of a character simply learning the truth and crying non-stop. Instead, it masterfully depicts her feeling completely unable to make sense of her reality, and trying to escape. Sir Buland ultimately taking her to the graveyard to reveal the truth was the absolute cherry on top.
The Performances
Sajal does an extraordinary job of capturing every fleeting emotion. The way she communicates volumes using only her eyes, with minimal dialogue, is truly remarkable.
Daniyal Zafar is equally fabulous as Sir Buland. His composure, underlying sadness, and deep emotional resonance are portrayed eloquently and are well worth celebrating. He is a true scene-stealer.
Sir Buland’s internal conflict was palpable as he agonized over how to deliver the tragic news. When Rabeeya asks about Mudassir at the hospital, the realization hits him that she is completely unaware, and the burden falls solely on him.
Sir Buland to keep his eyes downcast while speaking to Rabeeya was a beautiful directorial detail that added immense depth to his character.
Furthermore, because he missed the wedding, the two are practically strangers. The profound respect he shows her now ensures that if a relationship does develop later, it will feel natural and endearing rather than forced or awkward.
A massive shout-out to Shahzad Kashmiri for the graveyard sequence.
As Sir Buland and Rabeeya walk toward the grave, the camera cuts to Torsam and his gang walking along the opposite side of the path. The agonizing tension made it feel like an inevitable confrontation, only for us to realize that Torsam was actually exiting the graveyard just as Rabeeya was entering. It was a genius twist. The way the director manipulates the tension, catching us completely off guard before granting a sigh of relief, is masterful.
The execution of the water tank rescue was also flawless, injecting a gripping layer of intensity into the drama.
Now that Sir Buland has brought Rabeeya home, the stakes are higher than ever. How will Sher Bano react? What does the future hold for Rabeeya? When will Torsam uncover their whereabouts? And will Sir Buland ultimately marry her to protect her? These burning questions have us completely hooked.
