Maheer Speaks … Finally!
Well thank God, Maheer told Areeb in no uncertain terms that she is not coming back to him, and finally owned up to being Saad’s wife in front of Saad. Just that dear Maheer, please do not forget this in the next episode. Humara nazuk dil itnee taiz tabdeeli nahin berdasht ker paye ga 🙂.
While we’re still on the topic of Maheer finally speaking up, we see her losing it completely with her mother and Anabia, in Saad’s defence, for the first time. A much needed action that she needed to take some time ago.
We wish you had spoken something when you walked into the house and heard your mother screaming at your father and Saad.
Saad’s Ego Or Insecurities?
Saad not letting Maheer work, is not because of any male egoistic issues. Saad ’s concern and his own internal complex about not being able to take care of the family is making him stop Maheer from working. Makes us wonder if this is a version of male ego at play or just a simple human insecurity. Can human incompetency or insecurities be the root cause of male egos, that make men take regressive decisions?
In retrospect, Saad’s decision was a bit silly and illogical and perhaps, regressive, but since we like him so much, we let it go. POV: If Areeb had done the same thing we would be hating on him? The same action from a different character has different reactions because we are subjective about them. Let us know what you think.
The scene between Saad and Maheer reflects an important point, that women keep bearing the burden of broken male egos and insecurities.
Parenting Flaws?
It is so frustrating to see Areeb’s mother deciding for her grownup son when to travel and where to go. What’s wrong with her? Did we have to show this unreasonable and illogical side even for a toxic character?
The final scene was intense and makes us scared for Saad and Maheer. What will Areeb do to make Maheer tell Saad herself that she doesn’t want to stay with him anymore. We should not underestimate Areeb.
