What a relief, Maheer finally speaks up. We finally get the much-needed declaration by Maheer that we were all waiting for impatiently. Mujhe Pyaar Hua Tha also gave us some endearing moments between Maheer and Saad.
Saad-Maheer Equation Makes Headway
It was heartening to see Maheer and Saad slowly drawing near each other. Maheer finally recognizing that she mistook Areeb as her love, and Saad is the result of some good deed that she must have done in life. We were looking forward to some cute moments between Saad and Maheer, just when Areeb entered Maheer’s house and destroyed everything.
Maheer Found Her Voice
While Maheer did speak up, she did so after some time. We were hoping she would tell him off immediately.
Neelo and her mother’s reaction doesn’t make sense at all, especially after Maheer told Areeb in no uncertain words, that she hated him and didn’t want him in her life at all. Plus if Maheer is interested in Areeb, what is stopping her from leaving Saad? She can just leave easily or at least, carry on a secret affair, why create so much drama in the drama. The three ladies in that household give good competition to Areeb in creating toxicity.
Saad’s Inner Turmoil
Saad’s inner turmoil was evident as he shares with Maheer how he feels Areeb is better than him. Interesting to see human psychology at play. Saad suffers not only from this low self-esteem (which is enhanced by the fact that Maheer was initially interested in Areeb) but also that, it is still not love, but just acceptance of the situation, that has made Maheer turn to him.
The Love Story Is Still Incomplete?
Though we are confused by Maheer bringing friendship between them again? Of course, they are friends and will remain. Did she have to mention it at this point when we were hoping they would be entering the husband-wife zone along with being friends? Was that just a comforting sentence for Maheer herself or was it a hint to Saad about their status? Saad is there for Maheer, as always… supporting her, respecting her and loving her unconditionally, but we’d now like our hero-heroine to move beyond friendship!
While the drama has definitely stretched its lifecycle and the script has tested audience’s patience, we just want Saad & Maheer to realize and express their true feelings for each other without the Areeb psychotic revenge twist in the plot that is about to unleash on us! But alas, that is not to be!
Areeb’s Psychotic Twist!
Areeb is now the completely irrational, almost psychotic stalker who just wants Maheer (or revenge) at any cost. The fact that he says, if Maheer can’t be his, he won’t let her be with anyone else, shows his selfish and insensitive nature.
The Final Countdown!
It would be great to finish a painting and a story when it is done. One would say, it is hard for creators to really know when it’s done, because that is, perhaps the hardest part of any creative process, to let go of the Art and know when it’s time to let go. It requires utmost skill and seasoned storytelling for sure. A few episodes more in a drama or 20 minutes of drag time in a film are all it takes to turn an engaging story into a tortuous experience for viewers.
