Appreciation for Mujhe Qabool Nahi, for actually showing a way out to a problem faced by many women. Atir guides Maira to open a separate bank account and to tell Salman that it is a company policy to open a solo account in a bank nominated by the company.

Disappointing Mother
While Maira’s mother refused to help her, sadly, in fact agrees that Salman was right. She should not have told her anything, Maira who is desperate for someone to listen to her… to believe her, has found a friend and a guide in Atir.
Maira’s words to her mother and Atir spelled out the emotional and financial control or manipulation taking place. Salman opening a joint account, keeping an eye on her money, taking the card to use it for his own needs, even telling her that he will pick and drop her once the office gives her the car… is making sure he has control over each and every asset of hers.
If we do not provide emotional support within the family, women will seek help elsewhere. We are happy to see the drama showing women that there is always another option, there might be another way. You must give not give in to circumstances.
Salman and His Controlling Ways
As Salman very cleverly takes control of Maira’s card and also discovers her PIN, the drama makes one question; where do we draw the line in supporting or giving money to our partner when he is not contributing, or trying to contribute to the household income at all?
Salman’s father very conveniently announced that his sons will not bring their brides home till the daughter is married off – a great reminder that once can never make selfish people happy and they will always prioritize themselves over us.
