The idea of our dramas having an extended place, being watched by people all around the world, and getting a chance to be amongst the most favorite dramas of the world is quite thrilling, to say the least. However, one thing which Pakistanis have been knowing more than anything else is our dramas and movies. We are the audience that has stayed up for late-night episodes, made the fictional characters a part of our family, analyzed the endings in a professional manner, and recommended the shows to everyone from cousins to even workmates. In other words, who could be a better advisor regarding which series to pick for Netflix than ourselves?
Of course, there are certain things that our industry needs to work on: budgets, scale of production, and global-level resources. But in terms of the essence of entertainment, something we will never lack in is strong story-telling. From memorable characters and emotional rides, from suspense and romance to societal problems and cultural aspects, storytelling in Pakistan has always been able to touch people.
