First of all, ‘YAYY!!’ we’re into the semi finals of the 2021 T20 World Cup! How exciting. Last night after a nail biting and tense first half of the first innings, the Pakistan team did it again! 4 unbeatable (now with Pak vs. Namibia) and memorable matches in a row, it just gets better!
I’m not a cricket person, but this time around I’m hooked. Continuously checking the points table and keeping up with the matches, especially Pakistan’s. And let’s just say I’m not disappointed. Pakistan’s performances, the jazba and junoon have awakened the patriot inside of me. Last night’s Pak vs Nam (Namibia match) was important as it was a step closer to the semi finals. And the boys in green did it! Couldn’t be more happier and prouder.
Match Highlights
Pak won the toss and decided to bat first. What a shocker, right? But hey, at least they managed to make a whopping 189 runs, giving Namibia a good chase after the runs. But we do recommend, please always opt for balling first, get those wickets and then hit the team with those spectacular 6s and 4s and win! Babar and Rizwan’s partnership is like no other, 100+ runs. Yes! But Babar got knocked out sooner than we expected and just when we thought ‘are we doomed?’ Hafeez stepped in to save the day!
Hasan Ali turned heads yesterday too by taking down a wicket and assisting in another by catching the ball at the right minute! (Generator start hogya hai bhai!) Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf (of what would we do without you!) took down Namibian players. An easy 5 wickets, in other words!
There was a catch drop too by Shaheen Shah Afridi, but hey that’s ok. Netizens, give him a break, he’s played well so far and we have full faith he’ll surprise and live up to our expectations in the semis and hopefully the finals too!
