Pakistani film, Parey Hut Love won an award in the Wholesome Entertainment category at the South Asia Forum for Art and Creative Heritage’s (SAFACH) International Film Festival held in India. This is a proud moment for all Pakistanis as this award not only acknowledges the budding talent in our country but also symbolizes the appreciation that people across both sides of the border have for their artists.
The director, Asim Raza was quite pleased after bagging the award at the International Film Festival and shared the news with the world while congratulating the team.
What Is SAFACH?
This is the third edition of the SAFACH, South Asia’s first borderless-international travelling film festival which was held from 18 December to 23 December 2021 in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, India. According to their website the idea behind inception of SAFACH is to share art, culture, heritage, traditions and literature amongst all South & South-East Asian countries and bring people, especially the youth of these countries, closer.
The Core Charter of SAFACH (South Asia Forum for Art and Creative Heritage) is to encourage Creative & Artistic collaborations among all the South & South-East Asian nations. SAFACH aspires to become a strong medium to facilitate dialogues between the creative industries of South & South-East Asian nations…Despite some differences, the “way of life” is still similar in all the South Asian nations and in several aspects, they overlap each other.

About The Film
Parey Hut Love is a 2019 film directed by Asim Raza who has previously directed Ho Mann Jahaan (2015), Maan Jao Naa (2018) and, Parey Hut Love (2019). Parey Hut Love is known for its excellent cinematography with appealing aesthetics with an overall vibrant vibe. The movie is written by Imran Aslam who is a Pakistani screenwriter and journalist.
The movie has a star-studded cast which includes Sheheryar Munawar, Maya Ali, Ahmed Ali Butt, Zara Noor Abbas, Nadeem Baig, Hina Dilpazeer, Rachel Viccaji, Frieha Altaf and Parisheh James amongst others. Our two leading stars, Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan also made an appearance in the film.
Though the film received critical review due to lack of a strong plot, the movie still was a big hit and applauded by the audience for the feel-good vibe coupled with being a light-hearted family movie. The plot revolves around the two protagonists, Sheheryar (Sheheryar Munawar) Saniya (Maya Ali). and leaps from one wedding to another where Sheheryar and Sonia have multiple encounters and develop feelings for each other. The film was shot in Turkey, Islamabad and multiple locations. Asim Raza has been able to successfully capture these picturesque areas and direct a visually pleasing film.
Maya Ali and Sheheryar Munawar are both big names in our entertainment industry. We also saw the pair together in Pehli Si Muhabbat. This was Maya’s second movie followed by Teefa in Trouble. She has previously worked in multiple Pakistani dramas and currently, we are seeing her in Jo Bichar Gaye. As of Sheheryar, he has essayed Arhaan in Ho Mann Jahaan and Tipu in 7 Din Muhabbat In. We are currently seeing him as Major Usama in Sinf-e-Aahan.
