Distinguished Pakistani mountaineer Ali Raza Sadpara lost his life today due to a fall that left him with severe injuries.

Ali Raza Sadpara slipped off a cliff weeks ago and fell into a ditch, resulting in grievous injuries, including a fractured spinal cord and ribs. He was getting treated in the District Headquarters Hospital in Skardu, and breathed his last earlier today.
His Credentials
There’s no surprise that a celebrated mountaineer like him has a long list of credentials. To honour his legacy, here’s us doing our part today by making our readers aware of his achievements.
Did you know? He coached Ali Sadpara, the renowned Pakistani mountaineer who lost his life on K2’s bottleneck last year. His mentees also included Hassan Sadpara, the first Pakistani to climb six eight-thousanders including Mount Everest & K2.
His career dates back to 1986. In the 56 years of his life, besides climbing Sia Kangri, Baltoro Kangri, and Spantik. he had climbed Pakistan’s 8 thousand meters peaks 17 times, Dawn reported. Those peaks include Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum-I & II, and Broad Peak.
Not only that, he had outnumbered other mountaineers in hoisting the Pakistani flag on 8000-meter mountains. According to reports, he had plans to summit the K2 this summer as well.
It is indeed an irreplaceable loss for Pakistan. On this tragic day, lets try to honor his legacy and celebrate his victories.
