Qarz e Jaan and Cheekh – 5 years down the road, and Pakistani drama creators, writers, directors, and actors are standing exactly where they were.

Wajih blamed his brother for all his misdoings, and last night, Ammar blamed his father for all his crimes. When will our creators learn to stop justifying a murderer and rapist’s crimes and create a soft spot for them in audience’s hearts?
Here’s The Thing
If a criminal convicted of a heinous crime – murder and rape, goes public, cries and blames his parents for his criminal activities, we should have a soft spot for him and start thinking of him as a hero because he apologised, realised his crimes and repents.
Does that mean that our creators have not evolved at all? As audiences, have we not learnt to be more responsible in our perspectives? Calling out bad parenting is admissible but not at the cost of whitewashing the crimes of a person who has broken the law. These people are adults and fully responsible for their actions, they cannot and should not lay the blame for their actions upon their upbringing.

Wajih and Ammar cry before their sisters – same scenario.
Why They Grew On The Audiences
People loved Wajih because it was Bilal Abbas Khan, and now audiences are feeling for Ammar because it is Nameer Khan.
So, every time drama makers cast a good-looking actor as a villain, they must create audience sympathy for that character? Please note that this is not to undermine the talent or performance by the actor, which is a separate conversation altogether.

I disagree we do not glorify criminals but we tell how someone becomes a criminal aren’t they human too? Who’s forgiving them…repentance is their right and between them and Allah we learn to do good upbringing of out children and not be toxic from these dramas so villains don’t form ofc there are naturally bad ppl too but some are shaped by circumstances which should NOT happen no one is born good or bad maybe we have tendencies either way but it’s the way we live our lives that matters Ammar and Wajih both did wrong and we are shown the process of their corruption of mind and soul only illiterate ppl glorify them for looks the purpose of such dramas is not to glorify criminals
